5 Signs That You Could Be Doing Much Better In Life
Maybe you are accepting less than you deserve

Your parents raised you to be like them.
They probably gave you the same education they received, mostly because they don’t know any other way to do it.
As a result, if your parents earn $50,000 a year and drive a Mini, following their advice will get you exactly there.
But maybe you want another type of life. One free of money-related problems and the boring day-to-day stuff. But to do that, you have to question yourself:
- Can I do better than what I’m doing now?
To answer that question, there are 5 subtle signs that will tell you if you need an upgrade in your life. If you notice any of them, don’t hesitate to go for more than you have now.
1. Your Dreams Aren’t Aligned With Your Schedule
- A dream turns into an idea when you think of it for a while.
- An idea turns into a plan when you decide where and when you want to take action on it.
- And a plan turns into a reality when you put every part of it in your schedule.
If you want to be a Rockstar, your schedule can’t say
- “9 AM: design a webpage, 1 PM: Visit a sales client.”
Your dreams have to be aligned with your schedule. If you want to do anything, you have to be able to see it right in your planner.
If your dream is to be a Rockstar and you don’t have an audition anywhere in the week, you could definitely be doing much better.
Because if you don’t work for what makes you happy, your cat won’t do it for you.
2. You’re Clearly More Capable Than Your Boss
When you’re talking to your boss, any of these thoughts could cross your mind:
- Why is this idiot telling me what to do?
- The strategy he is using is horsesh*t; we could be doing much better.
If you have thought that, you could probably be doing better in life.
It could be a sign that you are actually more capable than your boss, and you’re wasting potential doing things that anyone could do.
So don’t get used to your office and try to get into a nicer one, because you probably deserve it.
3. Your First Thought is: “What will X person think of this?”
Sometimes we attach our goals to what others will think of us.
Maybe you take a shitty job just to show your partner that you are capable of being constant (even if you really want to do any other thing).
When you do this, you are limiting yourself to the likes and dislikes of a certain person.
You literally depend on how that person might feel tomorrow morning, or if they will change their mind anytime.
If your entire happiness is attached to a human being, you are in for a lot of stress and headaches.
Because humans are irrational, goals are not. So let yourself be happy by thinking of yourself first rather than anyone else’s preferences.
4. You Are Always Looking For Something New
There’s no better sign than this one.
If you are constantly looking to relieve your pain by starting new and exciting things, then you could be doing better in life.
Doing this means that your actual situation doesn’t fulfill you. And therefore, you need adrenaline kicks to not die of boredom (AKA starting new things).
This sign is very easy to notice when you watch a movie.
For example, if you watch Top Gun and suddenly you want to become a pilot, that could mean that you’re not enjoying your job; so you want a little excitement to get out of your routine.
5. You Compare Yourself To The Next Person
If you are more focused on what others are doing rather than what you are doing, you are creating a recipe for chaos.
Jeff Bezos sets a good example on this.
He said that you should focus on your company 100%, not on anyone else. Because when you focus on your competitors, you stop focusing on your customers. And that never ends well.
So if you notice yourself comparing your work with any other’s person results, stop right there. You could be doing much better if you just focused on yourself, not wasting energy on the person next door.
Conclusion
If you notice any of these attitudes in your life, consider if you could be doing better than this. You could be wasting a great amount of potential that you could be using for something much better (or bigger).
Now, take these and try to be a better person than yesterday. Do that for long enough, and you’ll realize you’ve made an incredible leap.
That’s all for today!
