We all have heard several success stories about different people trying out some side hustle and raking in thousands of dollars every month and thought to ourselves, hey, even I know how to do that. Then we try doing it, only to end up failing with several hours lost and even some money wasted.

This is because something what works well for one person might not be the right thing for you to do and you might not have the same set of skills or resources as the person for whom a particular side hustle worked out fine.

So, in this post, we decided to write about 5 relatively less known and less popular side hustles that have historically had high success rates for people who have tried it and practically does not require you to possess any special set of skills or abilities or invest a lot of time and money.

For each of the side hustles mentioned in this list, you only need to spend a couple of hours a day to bring in a significant amount of income relative to the amount of effort you put in and the time you spent.

TikTok videos and affiliate links make the best combination

If you are reading an article about side hustles, chances are you already know what Affiliate marketing is, so I am not going to bore you with the details of it.

However, most people don’t tell you that while Affiliate marketing has a substantial potential to make you a good amount of money, it is pretty challenging to get an audience to visit your affiliate link and sign up for the service or purchase the product you are promoting.

According to a ton of surveys and metrics, the CTR for most affiliate links is less than 5% with some of them being in the range of 5–10%.

This means that the more people see your content with the affiliate link, the higher chances you have of actually making a significant amount of money.

One good and relatively easy way to get many people to view your content in recent times is by posting it as a short video on TikTok.

If you post the right type of video during the right time of the day and with the most relevant hashtags, you marginally increase the potential number of views your video will get.

The best part is you don’t even have to make a video of your own as you can download free videos with creative commons license from YouTube that is most relevant to the service or product you will be promoting.

So, the workflow goes like this, download a video from YouTube with the creative commons license that is relevant to your affiliate product, upload the video to TikTok, optionally making any edits to it if you want, add the affiliate link of the product to your TikTok profile’s bio and in the comments of the video, use relevant hashtags and post it during the evenings and in the weekends, sit back and watch the money come in.

Sell domains and make money

Domain flipping is a quick and straightforward side hustle that could make you hundreds or even thousands of dollars if your timing is right.

Basically, the concept is to buy a domain name from websites like GoDaddy and then selling it for a higher price for companies of people who need it for their business or personal use.

The trick is to do your research about any new companies or businesses that have launched recently or are going to launch soon, and buy a domain with their business name or buy domains with popular keywords or brandable words and sell them at online marketplaces like GoDaddy Auctions to people who are looking for it.

You can also visit sites like Expireddomains.net to look for domain names that have expired recently and try to buy them for domain flipping before the owner can renew them.

While the concept behind Domain flipping might seem a bit controversial, if you think about it is no different than house flipping or furniture flipping.

There are even people who have turned Domain flipping into a full-time career, so with good timing and some luck, you might be able to make considerable amounts of money doing domain flipping with relatively less effort.

Get paid to test websites

Website testing is a great way to make some quick money online, and all you have to do is use websites and web apps of famous brands and businesses and give your feedback and suggestions based on your experience to help the companies fix any issues and improve their products before launching them to the general public.

Many websites like usertesting.com and userlytics.com, and freelance sites pair you with their clients to test their websites and provide your feedback while getting paid for it.

On average, you can make around $10 or more for a 20-minute testing session and even more than $100 if you do live interviews with the website developers.

Just head over to any of these websites or register in a freelance site, and once you answer some screening questions and zip through a couple of practice tests, start testing sites and bring in the dough.

Writing reviews to make a few extra bucks

Similar to website testing, websites like Capterra.com and gartner.com pay you to write and share your reviews and feedbacks about popular software and online applications.

You can submit a review for any product you want, and the only catch is that you need to wait for them to send you emails with paid opportunities and incentives for reviews.

The good thing is there is no limit on how many reviews you can publish and these websites usually pay anywhere between $10-$150 depending on the software and they make the payment in form of gift cards or PayPal based on the incentive program.

While this might not be a lucrative side hustle, it will surely complement your primary source of income, and a little money on the side is never a bad thing.

Quickly design and sell logos for a profit

Canva is one of my favorite web applications. It is also one of the many software I regularly use to create posts for my social media accounts and images and videos for my blogs and YouTube videos.

The best part about Canva is that you don’t need to have any knowledge about digital designs or illustrations, and even a complete beginner can make an amazing-looking design within a few minutes by making use of their thousands of free templates and intuitive tools.

A quick Google search will provide you with a ton of websites and online marketplaces where you can sell your logos and digital designs and you can also connect with clients through freelance sites to sell the logos and designs that you made through Canva.

While there are other popular alternatives to Canva like Adobe Spark, Visme, and PicMonkey, I found Canva to be the most beginner-friendly, and with their easy-to-use interface, anyone can create a new logo or design in a matter of minutes.
