as a 6 Core CPU, 5 Core GPU, and a 16 Core Neural Engine, combined with the 4 gigs of RAM, it has plenty of power to handle most things you would throw at it. 5 Reasons why YOU should buy the iPad Mini 6!

Or why you should at least consider it ;)

Full disclosure: I love the iPad mini. And if you’ve seen any of my YouTube videos about the mini, that should not come as a surprise. Now, I’ve seen a bunch of videos by fellow YouTubers telling you why you shouldn’t be buying this tablet and… I respectfully disagree. Let me give you FIVE reasons why.

Touch ID

Reason number 1: Touch ID. Now, this is obviously not the number one reason why I love the iPad Mini so much but I had to put this first to troll my man (fellow YouTuber) Fernando Silva a little. He HATES touch ID and he gave it as his first reason NOT to buy the iPad Mini. And we genuinely disagree on this matter, I actually love touch ID, I have been wishing for the iPhone to get touch ID ever since face masks became a thing.

That didn’t happen but at least we have it on the next most portable apple Device, the iPad Mini. Honestly, I don’t know what Fernando is talking about, touch ID works every single time for me, doesn’t matter how I place my finger, it works. Would I have liked face ID as well? Sure. But it’s not on there and touch ID works really well. By the way, you probably know Fernando, but in case you don’t, go check out his channel, he makes excellent iPad content what seems to be every other day.

Power

Right, reason number 2: Power! For some reason a lot of people always assume that the iPad Mini is a lesser tablet, with lower end specs. Make no mistake, this little guy is no joke! Don’t think of it as a small version of the Gen 9 iPad, it absolutely kills the Gen 9. The iPad mini is more like a shrunken down version of the iPad Air 4, and in some ways, like the Camera department, it’s even better than the Air.

It’s rocking the new A15 Bionic chip, which might as well be called M1. It has a 6 Core CPU, 5 Core GPU, and a 16 Core Neural Engine, combined with the 4 gigs of RAM, it has plenty of power to handle most things you would throw at it. It’s great for editing photos, you can edit 4K videos on this thing no problem, and it even does a really great job as a gaming device. Which brings us to reason number 3.

Gaming

I think a good number of people that are considering buying this new iPad Mini will be looking at this tablet as a potential mobile gaming device. I mean, games for iPadOS are getting better and better and some of them are getting awfully close to being console quality. I tested a couple of games, from pretty light stuff like Sonic Racing, all the way to absolute hogs like Genshin Impact and I was actually surprised at how well the mini handles a heavy games like Genshin.

I remember when we were all reviewing the M1 iPad Pro when it came out, in my case the 16 gig version, Genshin Impact was THE test to see how powerful the new iPad Pro really was. So to see this tiny little tablet playing it just fine, is pretty amazing. Oh and you can hook up the PS5 dual sense controller to it which makes for a fantastic gaming experience, even more so when you get yourself a very nice stand, like the HoverBar Duo, the Magflött by Charjen. I am not much of a gamer myself, I almost never play games on my iPad Pro. It just doesn’t feel right, it’s too heavy. But on this little guy, I’ll actually play a few games and enjoy it — it’s the perfect size!

Toiletability

And that brings us to the 4th reason why you should consider buying this iPad Mini, which is toiletability. I am sorry, what now? You heard me: toiletability. You and I both know that what this iPad really is. It is the perfect companion to take with you to the bathroom. You don’t want to be rushing things in there and I’ve been known to watch a TikTok or two in the smallest room of the house.

Why call it toiletability? Because if it’s portable enough to take with you to the bathroom, it’s portable enough to take anywhere. And portable it is, which makes this a terrific media consumption device. This iPad is perfect for watching YouTube, Netflix, turn it around in vertical mode and watch your TikToks. In bed, on the couch, doesn’t matter, it weighs virtually nothing and feels comfortable anywhere.

USB-C

Reason number 5: USB-C. By the way, I cheated, I am going to give you a little bonus reason after this one, let’s call it 5a. Actually, this is an Apple device, so let’s call it 5S. But let’s talk about reason 5 first. I won’t go into another hissy fit about the shitty lightning connector, let’s be positive and rejoice. We have USB C on the iPad Mini and it’s awesome. I can grab the charger off my Macbook Pro, or any other device around the house really, stick in the iPad Mini and charge it in no time.

But of course that’s not the main reason why it’s so nice to have USB C on this device. The main reason is the fact that it opens this iPad Mini up to a ton of options and accessories. I did a video recently showing some of my favorite accessories for this iPad Mini and I plan to do a lot more of those because the possibilities are literally endless. Which by the way would be a great reason for you to subscribe to my YouTube channel, and why not follow me on here whilst you’re at it :)

Apple Pencil (Gen 2)

Now for the bonus reason , reason 5S : the second Gen Apple Pencil. This iPad Mini is compatible with the Apple Pencil 2 and that really makes this device that much more useful as a note taking machine. I love that I can just grab the Apple Pencil from my iPad Pro, stick it onto the mini in exactly the same way, and boom, it’s paired, it’s ready to use.

And with a much improved Notes app in iPadOS15 and plenty of great third party apps, the iPad mini really is an excellent note taking device, it might actually be my favorite iPad for handwritten notes. I’ve said it before, I am not going to whip out my 12.9 inch iPad Pro to take a quick note at a meeting, but I will definitely do so when I have this iPad Mini on me. It’s small enough to be unobtrusive, but big enough to comfortably write my notes.

I challenge you to pick up the iPad Mini 6 and not love it. You just can’t.
