Nowadays, more and more women in third-world countries, if not all over the world prefer to balance family and work life than being a full-time career woman or homemaker.
Apparently, it is tougher to make ends meet in such countries due to a lot of reasons. More flexible family time, lack of maternity leave days, and no parenting or childcare support are just some of them.
It is International Women’s Month and I want to shout out to women all over the world for being such fantastic human beings on this planet.

In this article though, I want to give some enlightenment most especially to mothers who feel they are the least appreciated, the stay-at-home moms! Funny, that includes me. LOL

Being a mother is considered a very essential role because we never stop working so hard to help shape a better future by raising kids to be good, sensible adults someday.
While such words are not enough to give ourselves the kind of fulfillment we are in dire need of, we are stuck between trying to be a career woman and trying to be the best mother our children could ever have, not to mention the economic decline the current pandemic has brought to us, especially in third world countries.
Well, here are the five practical part-time jobs we can do while staying at home. To give you a heads up, these jobs mostly require internet and personal computer. However, it only needs a little amount of start-up cost and may not even need a college diploma. 😉
Online ESL Tutor
The first thing that you need to have is your English skill. Most online institutions do not require you to be a college degree holder nor any teaching accreditation certification to do your job as a tutor, as long as you can converse well in English.
You also need a good, working pc, a reliable internet connection, and some computer skills because you need to, of course, type, use teaching tools such as Zoom, Google Classroom, and the like.
If you have these, then you are set! The best thing about this job is that you will be able to have a flexible time since you decide the teaching hours and choose the most convenient time for you to work.
Freelance Virtual Assistant
Many Filipinos who work as Virtual Assistants have clients based in the US, UK, Australia, and many other countries in different timezones which is the reason why it is one of the most preferred jobs for Filipino stay-at-home moms.
As a freelancer, you are able to set your own schedules, do the jobs that you are interested in or niche-based, and receive a higher rate.
If you are interested to become one, you need to have some office skills such as typing, calendar management, research, or customer service skill.
What’s more, such tasks are easily learned by watching thousands of tutorial videos on Youtube.
Reseller (Dropshipping)
While this is not a get-rich-quick scheme, this method may still be ideal for mothers who do not have extra cash to start a business but are business-minded type and if you have a lot of friends or connections, it is going to be a big advantage for you.
Many start by looking for suppliers on Facebook, I’m telling you there are so many of them! Such suppliers accept Resellers, and that is going to be you. You can grab photos of their products, upload them to your own Facebook page where you have your own network, then once a customer buys from you, forward the order information to your supplier.
The customer then pays you (original price + your profit) and in which you will be paying the supplier. The supplier will then pack and place delivery. Finally, the customer receives the package.
Baker / Caterer
If you are the kind who loves cooking and baking. Why not showcase your skills to earn money? Start by setting up a Facebook page. Upload as many photos and make sure they are your own. Videos can be more attractive too!
You can start by offering Minimalist birthday cakes to your neighbors and friends. Not only you will enjoy this business but for sure you will have a big profit.
Data Entry
It is basically a typing job, even more like a copy-and-paste task but you need to follow your client’s instructions carefully in order for you to deliver the best output.
You can find such jobs on Upwork, Fiverr, Onlinejobsph, and many other work-from-home platforms.

All of the jobs mentioned above can be done a few hours a day and are easy to learn. You will never know what you can become if you don’t make your first step now. Not only you are helping yourself or your husband or family but, you are somehow helping the economy of your third-world country.
