5 Places to Submit Your Writing, March 2024

You can submit to 5 places before you pass out from exhaustion

Collaged in Canva. Because it’s funny.

Welcome to March, a perimenopause of a month. It’s spring; it’s not. Get out the tank tops; where are your fleece pants? It’s Fahrenheit whiplash, but there’s no way around it. Get on out of that slump of misery that was the winter because flowers are blooming! Just kidding: here’s some sleet.

Well, nothing says spring and possibility like submission opportunities so let’s get to them!

1. Be a Tule

Tule Publishing Accepts unagented submissions of Romance & Mystery. While they claim their editorial calendar is full for 2024, 2025 will be here before you know it. They accept what they deem “short novels” of 50k-69k words and “long novels” of 70k-90k. They are a digital-first publisher. Does that mean that you will never be able to hug your book? Not necessarily. Digital publishing is a completely reasonable way to get your story into the hands of readers sooner. Who knows? Maybe it’s the model of the future. So have you got the next fall head over your heels in love rom com or page-turning whodunit? Submit here.

2. Koehler Books

While Koehler may make you think kitchen appliances (don’t they do stoves and stuff?), turns out there’s a publisher by that moniker as well. They are niche with imprints in Business, Memoirs & Legacy and Military. They accept manuscripts of 20k-90k. They do traditional publishing as well as hybrid publishing. Got the next Business blockbuster or juicy memoir. Maybe this is the place.

3. The Answer is Black & White

While Black & White Publishing publishes both fiction and nonfiction, they are only open to fiction sporadically throughout the year. They are, however, currently open to one-page nonficiton proposals. You can send them here: [email protected].

Topics include:

  • sports books (with a particular focus on the UK and Ireland)
  • lifestyle, humour, gift and activity books
  • food and drink titles
  • Scottish non-fiction
  • Irish non-fiction
  • nature and wild places

4. A Storm’s a Comin’

Another digital-first imprint, I was initially pretty biased against these types of publishers, but hey, you’ve got a story; they’re a publisher. Maybe I am locked in the stone age thinking all books have to be physical tomes. Maybe it’s worth giving a try. In addition to accepting manuscripts for crime, thriller, mystery, psychological thriller, historical, multi-cultural works, romantic, women’s, science fiction, reading group fiction, they also accept CVs for adult fiction editors, proof editors, copy editors, book cover designers, publicists, translators and audiobook narrators. As a friend of mine once said, “you’ve got to make money being yourself — all the parts.” And no one is just one thing. You probably have many skills, so why not branch out? Submit here.

5. Be outre

Bookouture publishers a variety of genres from crime and thriller to cozy mystery and fantasy. They are interested in full-length commercial fiction. Their covers look very professional because, c’mon, we all judge a book by its cover! Keep them up all night with your brilliant manuscript.

Thanks for reading. Follow Endless Opps for multiple batches of submission opportunities monthly. Also, we are accepting submissions! Are you a generous, hilarious writer who has a moderately obsessive problem looking for bizarre submission opportunities? Read our guidelines and submit your own piece. And I don’t want to boast, but we have 18 followers. Eat your heart out, Better Humans.

Think of it as a kind of cosmic karma.

And if you enjoy these curated opportunities, just fall asleep on top of your computer while pressing that clap button. You get a quick nap; I get to keep on curating opps!

Until next time…
