5 Motivational Quotes When You Want to Give Up
Every time you think of giving up, read these quotes to change your perspective
No matter how strong you are, we all have bad days and days when everything works against us. We want to succeed but something always stops us.
Having the right mindset is essential for success. It helps us to stay focused on our goals and not change the course.
Here are 5 quotes that will help you to stay on track:
“The secret of getting ahead is getting started.”
— Mark Twain
So today you made a plan. You set a goal for yourself. The next important part is to follow through with your plan. You don’t start a car until you press the foot on the pedal. In the same way, you should think about how you will get your things done.
Sometimes we have everything in front of us and ready to go but we just hold ourselves back and procrastinate. Just when you’re ready for action, the crippling self-doubt sets in. You start questioning everything and doubting your abilities.
When your negative thoughts are hindering your actions, you must stop them and letting them go. Don’t let your brain sabotage your chance for success.
Remind yourself that you need to take a step forward; otherwise, you’ll never start. Don’t make excuses — just start. Don’t wait for perfect conditions to do it. Nothing in life is perfect so expecting a perfect environment is a lost battle.
“If people are doubting how far you can go, go so far that you can’t hear them anymore.”
— Michele Ruiz
How many times you’ve come across people who told you something that discouraged you or brought you down? Sometimes it may not be us getting off the course. It’s the people around us that affect us. Their opinion and criticism can get in our heads.
Instead of caving into the negative remarks from others, what you should do is the opposite: pretend you’re in the race with them and trying to prove them wrong. Work extra hard to bring the odds in your favor and you will succeed. Once these people who doubted you in the first place see how successful you are, you won’t hear a word from them again.
“It’s no use going back to yesterday because I was a different person then.”
― Lewis Carroll
People get discouraged by the thought that if something didn’t work for them in the past, it won’t work for them in the present. They aren’t willing to take chances because they’re convinced they’d fail.
They live within their past experiences instead of living in the present. We all had failures in the past. That’s why we’re different than we were yesterday. We can see our life from a different lens now and we’ve grown in our experiences.
Use your failures as a stepping stone to success. Look at your experience as an advantage to guide your future, and don’t get stuck analyzing every action, every step, or every little mistake you made.
“Magic is believing in yourself. If you can make that happen, you can make anything happen.”
— Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
Beliving in your abilities and strengths is what drives you forward in life. Lack of self-esteem can hinder your growth. You may have all the factors for your success working in your favor, but ultimately it is your mindset that makes things happen.
Aim to see the best of who you are and never underestimate your abilities. Recognize your unique talents, and don’t measure yourself up to anyone. Build on your strengths instead of your weaknesses.
“If something is important enough, even if the odds are stacked against you, you should still do it.”
— Elon Musk
How many times have you made an excuse for not doing something? You blame the conditions or your environment for not getting something done.
Right now, the odds aren’t perfectly in my favor to write because I have two kids at home, and it’s not up to me to decide when I want to write. But I believe if you have a passion for something, with some planning you can make it work.
If you want to write, for example, you’ll try to rearrange your schedule and carve out a little bit of time each day. For example, to get my writing done, I wake up an hour earlier before my kids every day, if that’s how it works for me. If you run a home business or a side hustle, perhaps you can prioritize better to stay on top of your tasks.
It’s okay if all the odds aren’t in your favor — your job is to make it better. Remember all things are difficult before they are easy.
Bottom line: Once you’ve set a goal — follow through it. Find creative ways to make it work.
