5 Most Important Things To Do Before Starting a Youtube Channel
To make it happen, you have to make it happen.

If I read this title, I would think it contained the magic formula, the recipe for creating great content in the first video, and gaining thousands of views and subscribers. If you believe fantastic work comes with little effort, you’re mistaken, and this is precisely the article you need to continue reading. I started my youtube channel on April 30th, and I battled the following five things listed below before I posted my first video. If I weren’t able to overcome the following, I would be googling, Starting A YouTube Channel In 2020.
GET RID OF SELF-DOUBT.
“Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt “ William Shakespeare. Self-doubt in small doses is healthy, it keeps us alert, but like everything else, moderation is KEY. Too much self-doubt is the convincing voice that holds you back from seizing opportunities and making moves. As my thoughts did, your thought might be saying, “What if I’m not good enough,” “People might hate what I do,” or “What if I fail.”
- STOP IT! This part is not easy, but you have to become aware and stop that negative thinking. It takes practice, and like any muscle, the more you work the muscle, the strong it gets.
- NO ONE CARES MORE ABOUT YOU THAN YOU DO. How is your audience support to care about you if you are unable to care about yourself? No one is perfect, and everything takes time, but you have to push through and do it for yourself. You have to care about You.
- DON’T COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS. No one on this platform comes in knowing what they are doing. It takes a lot of time and effort, but in the long run, you will reap the benefits. You will do great :]
STOP SEEKING APPROVAL.
After a very long time, I sat down with myself and wondered why I never did what was in my heart. It was because I was continuously seeking approval for the actions I wanted to take. I never listened to myself. Never asked Malinda what, and why she wanted to do anything. You can’t please everyone, so stop trying. Go now and start recording. Don’t ask your friend, parent, or partner if it’s a good idea to start this channel, the fact that you want to start it should be good enough.
STOP PROCRASTING.
Procrastination is the snare of development and advancement. God knows that there are so many distractions out there, Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, the dog walking outside; it’s all a distraction. You can not neglect to move forward. Spring into action and start. The day waits for no one, which is truer now than at any other time in history. We are all stuck at home and already halfway through the year. Time isn’t waiting for COVID to be eradicated, to resume life. You need to spring into action and materialize your dream because the seconds are ticking away.
NO MONEY OR BUDGET
The most important thing I am grateful for being quarantined, no buying lunch at work. I was able to save so much money and get my finances in order. I have no extra money, but I wasn’t going to let that stop my dream. After doing this, I know now that I don’t need fancy equipment to create great content. My iPhone 8 plus works tremendous, and iMovie is free. Spend time researching free alternatives and make your dream comes true. If you want something bad enough, you can make it happen.
NOT EDUCATING AND LEARNING
You are entering into a platform that has everything. No matter what topic you wish to research, it will be on Youtube. If you wish to start a Youtube channel, there are a plethora of channels that teach you how to sign on to Seach Engine Optimization strategies. Continuous learning opens the window to more perspectives, which allows you to better understand your audience, who will support you. Don’t think you know it all because technology is changing every day, and you need to keep up.
If you want to start something, do it. Believe in yourself, and others will be drawn to you. Do not let silly things hold you back. The time is now.
