5 Life Quotes That Changed the Way I See Life and They Will Do The Same For You
These quotes will make you see life in a totally different way

I have loved quotes and even old sayings and proverbs for as long as I can remember.
In fact, I have two leather-bound notebooks where I record quotes, proverbs, and sayings I resonate with. I really treasure them.
Quotes in particular have an amazing way of encapsulating the human condition often in just a few lines.
It seems like just as ‘there is an app for that, ‘there is also a quote for that.’
For this piece, I choose just five quotes that stand out for me which I seem to come back to time and time again.
They resonate with me on a deep emotional level and have profound lessons to teach me on the journey of life.
It was hard to narrow down to just five quotes but after careful consideration these five really stood out at least for this stage of my life.
Just like with books and even songs I believe that when a quote resonates with you on a deep level, there is a message in it for you.
To ignore it would be ignoring a deep truth and lesson in life.
Remember the old saying- “When you hear the truth it resonates with you.”
Well, these quotes resonate with me and I hope they resonate with you.
If they do I suggest you study them, pull them apart, reflect on them at least for 30 days to really hone in on the lessons in store for you.
Without further ado are the quotes that made me see life in a totally different way and I hope they do the same for you:
Quote 1
“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.” Carl Jung
I love this quote because in a sentence it powerfully captures the psychology of self. Becoming who you are, your real self is a privilege that so many people sadly never get to as they are busy being someone else. Becoming yourself, the person you were meant to become is perhaps the greatest gift.
I use this quote to remind myself constantly to become who I am truly capable of becoming — the best version of myself who is constantly growing and stretching in life. I also use this quote to remind myself not to compare myself to others as I need to be me. I am unique, one of a kind, just like you are.
Quote 2
“Success is 90% mindset and 5% strategy.” Bob Proctor
I love this quote because to me at least it represents the right percentage — 90% is mindset and 5% is strategy. I can say from personal experience that mindset determines most of my results in life. I've seen a huge transformation take place in my life as a result of working on my mindset. You could play around with this quote and insert your own numbers if you wanted.
Tony Robbins says that “success is 80% psychology and 20% strategy.” Both quotes basically say the same thing. It's just the numbers have changed.
I use this quote constantly to remind myself that 90% of my results in life whether it be business, finances, relationships, etc all originate in my mind. Daily I work on my mindset. Then my actions, processes, and systems make up the 5% which is strategy.
Quote 3
“At the intersection where your gifts, talents, and abilities meet a human need, therein you will discover our purpose.” Aristotle
I love this quote as I believe it perfectly sums up purpose in life. What better way to discover your purpose than through using your gifts, talents, and abilities to meet a human need. This is what being of service and solving a pain point as marketers call it is all about. So many people look outside for their purpose not realizing its actually inside. Get still and go within.
I use this quote to remind me to not overcomplicate purpose and make it a grandiose thing that requires me to go on a mystical pilgrimage to Tibet to find it. My purpose is inside me. I just need to be still and brave enough to bring it out.
Remember when others don't use their purpose you get robbed, when you don't use your purpose others get robbed. Just think if Medium only remained an idea in someone’s mind. Millions of people would be robbed of this amazing platform.
Quote 4
“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” Wayne Dyer
I love this quote because it beautifully sums up the power of perception. The reality is that we perceive life through our own lens. These lenses are covered with biases, prejudices, cultural beliefs, subconscious programming, etc. It can cause us much emotional pain looking at something in a negative light. But often by changing the lens, no matter how bad something really is, it isn't as bad or at least you get a new perspective on it.
I use this quote to remind myself of the power of perception and I also use it to help me when facing challenging situations in life. Just the other day in fact I used this quote to help me look at a particularly challenging situation from my past in a more helpful and empowering way.
Quote 5
“ No more effort is required to aim high or to settle for misery” Bob Proctor
I love this quote because it reminds me essentially that if I can aim low in life and feel bad, I can also aim high and feel good. The amount of effort is the same, just the results are different. One is good and the other bad. This is so simple yet so hard for many people. I've often thought for years that if you can do a job you hate and get paid for it you can do a job you love and get paid for it. The same effort is required just different results.
I use this quote to remind myself that it's worth the effort to do what I do daily. That is to work on myself to be the best version of myself 7 days a week 365 days a year. It takes effort like writing this piece but it's worth it. On the flip side, I could just sit on the couch all day eating Nachos, watching Netflix, and complaining and bemoaning about my life. That takes effort too but it gives totally different results.
In conclusion, I hope these quotes have struck a chord deep within you as they have done for me.
Make them a brain tattoo where you can pull them out of your memory bank at will.
You’ll be impressing guests at parties and at events in no time if you do!
But aside from impressing others use them to inspire and ignite change in your life.
And of course to help create a better you,
