5 Quick Hacks to Increase eBay Sales Today
Make more money from your eBay account

Whether you’re a veteran seller on eBay or you’re just starting out, one question everyone runs across is: How do I get more sales?
After all, more sales mean more money in your pocket, and who wouldn’t want that?
There are simple methods you can use to start increasing the number of sales you get on eBay. These hacks can be implemented immediately for the items listed on your account and for future items.
You’ll start to see eBay sales increase shortly after using the hacks and you’ll never go back.
Selling on eBay is a great way to make money. Use these hacks to maximize your profits.
Leverage your offers
Once a potential buyer favorites a listing of yours, eBay gives you — the seller — the ability to send that buyer an offer.
Sending an offer helps entice a buyer to make a purchase. But are you sending your offers at the right times?
These are baseline rules to follow for leveraging your offers on eBay.
Do send an offer:
When an item has been listed for longer than 2 months: Items listed longer than 2 months will be long-haulers and might take a few more months before selling. If you have any watchers, it’s best to start firing out offers at the 2 months mark to avoid holding an item for too long.
If a buyer asks a question about an item they’re watching: When buyers send you questions about items it means they are genuinely interested in making a purchase. Send these same buyers offers after answering their questions.
On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays because more people buy items on the weekend: The majority of eBay sales happen on the weekend. Maybe it’s because most people get paid on Thursdays and Fridays or because people are just happier on the weekends. But for whatever reason, if you sell an offer on the weekend it’ll have a better chance of being accepted
Don’t send an offer:
On Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays because less eBay sales take place these days: Significantly fewer sales happen early in the week. Buyers get a case of the Mondays and don’t want to open up their wallets and purses.
Within two weeks of listing an item: Two weeks is too short of a time to be sending offers. There might be a buyer willing to come and make a purchase at full price, but you already sold your item after two weeks for a 20% discount.
If your listing has more than 200 views: Any listing that can make it over 200 views means it will eventually sell. There’s no need to send an offer if you have a listing that’s attracting so many eyeballs. It’ll sell itself eventually.
Maniuplate eBay’s algorithm
Yes, eBay has an algorithm and yes, you can use it to your advantage.
Every time you make a sale, eBay’s algorithm takes a note of it. It then rewards good sellers by boosting their item rankings during searches and suggesting more of that seller’s items via related products.
The algorithm chooses to do this because eBay gets a cut of every sale you make by taking out fees. So, eBay will make more money if you can make more successful sales be cause the algorithm is suggesting your items.
You can manipulate eBay’s algorithm by making more sales like accepting more offers sent by buyers, sending more offers and listing more items as auctions to help guarantee they sell.
Completely fill your listings
Many sellers don’t complete the full listings when selling an item. Most sellers find a similar item that’s been sold and click the ‘Sell One Like This’ button. Doing this creates an exact copy of the details for that sold item so you can use it for your own listing.
The problem with that is many listings are incomplete. To fully complete a listing, which helps eBay’s algorithm suggest your items, you need to do the following:
- Use as many title characters as possible (eBay allows up to 80)
- Fully complete your product description section as best as possible
- Write additional information in the open-ended description section
If you’re able to do these three steps for each listing then you’ll be surprised how quickly items start selling.
Use promoted listings
Don’t let promoted listings scare you, they are your friend.
Promoting a listing means eBay will take out a slightly larger fee when your item sells in exchange to showing the item to more people.
Use promoted listings on items that don’t sell.
If you have an item that you absolutely can’t sell, make it a promoted listing. You have nothing to lose. A buyer has to purchase the item for your promoted listing to take an extra fee.
Until a sale is made, your item will just be offered to more potential buyers with the promoted listing.
Lean into Q4
Quarter 4, or Q4, has just landed and sales are already starting to pick up. Now is the time to start listing everything you have and watch the magic happen.
These heightened Q4 sales will only continue to increase until we see them top out in first two weeks of December. After that, we’ll see a gradual decrease in sales until a few weeks after Christmas.
Lean into Q4 on eBay by listing more items and being prepared for it. Dont let it take you buy surprise. More people are buying online in these next few months than any time during the rest of the year.
Those are sales you could be making on your eBay account.
