5 Habits That Give You an Unfair Advantage in life
These 5 habits give you superpower

As you might have noticed, the world is not stopping…
Things keep moving
Faster…And… Faaasssttteeerrr…And…Faaaaaaasssssssstttttteeeeeerrrrr
It’s easy to feel stuck — as it’s easy to actually get stuck. The latest advancements of AI aren’t helping in this sense either.
Things get created at a faster pace than they did before — and we, poor humans, have to always play catch up.
Well… Not anymore!
I want to talk about 5 habits that will give you an unfair edge both in your professional and personal life.
Learn, Learn, Learn
I know it may seem overwhelming these days…
You’re probably asking yourself tons of questions.
What to learn? Where to start? Which technology to acquire???

In the midst of all this confused technological boom, you need to be able to discern what’s unchanging and necessary — and learn it
1 + 1 will always equal 2 — and you’ll always need to know how to add numbers to each other.
A lot of the things that have come our way lately are easy to understand and learn once you’ve learned the basic principles.
It’s not necessary to learn every single new thing. Just pick what helps you. Don’t learn for the sake of learning. Learn for the sake of doing. And it’s even better if you can learn by doing.
Study people — not just things
The most fascinating subject matter you can find out there is “people”. And it’s easy as well because we’re everywhere.
There’s like 8,000,000,000 of us.
From crooked politicians, to actors — from teachers, to serial killers.
There’s a plethora of characters in the world that can give you insights into this fascinating species.

Now, how does learning about people help you get ahead??
Wait for it….
Learning about people helps you know how to deal with them better. Now — don’t just open some books and learn about them in an abstract way.
Interact with them as much as you can.
Don’t push away people that you deem unlikable. Stick around! Learn how they think and learn about their motivations.
You’ll be amazed how much one person can teach you about others.
Just make sure you don’t extrapolate too much. We do have tons in common — however, you need to remember everybody is different at the end of the day…
Buy me a Ko-fi

Learning about people also helps you resolve conflict better.
I’ve always said that I can live with pretty much everyone — because I’ve been in the game of dealing with people for a very long time.
Few things now can surprise me, or frustrate me.
Learn to tell stories
A lot of things come down to how we communicate — actually, most things come down to it.
Communication may be the difference between a good and a bad student — a good and a bad teacher — a good and a bad politician — a good and a bad husband — a good and a bad parent…

You get my point.
Most things come down to how we convey our ideas… How we say the things we want to say.
So, you need to master the art of “Saying things” — which is essentially “Storytelling”
Be cognizant of how you come across.
I talked about learning earlier — but most people don’t care about what’s in your head as much as they care about what comes out of your face hole.
So, learn how to say things to:
- Persuade
- Educate
- Show care and empathy
- Close a deal, etc…
Get your hands dirty
Some people out there think that things will take care of themselves. If not this, they think that there will always be someone out there to come clean their mess.

You need to learn to do things with your hands.
I’m not saying you should learn to build a house.
But some of you out there (This is my judgmental self coming out) can’t even change a lightbulb.
You need to learn how to do basic stuff around the house.
Save yourself the hustle and the entitlement of always having to call and/or wait for someone to fix things for you.
You’re not too cool to change a tire or fix yourself some food.
It’s relaxing to use your hands… There’s a sort of pride that comes with it.
Do a few push-ups
Do something with your body every day that reminds it you’re still a human being capable of movement.
When you sit around on your computer every day and don’t have a chance to go out or do something, your body’s just sitting ducks waiting to pile up disease.

You need to move around, go for a walk, and connect with nature.
Even if you can’t join a gym, you can do something like some push-ups around the house.
Be active! Be healthy! Stay pretty!
