Today’s the second day of the one-week theme “Procrastination”.

Yesterday I asked you to write about the reasons why you procrastinate? If you miss the yesterday prompt, here you can find it.

Now, when you find out the reason why you procrastinate. Now, it’s time to remove all the distractions and fears from yourself.

It’s time to beat your procrastination. First of all, you have to know what are the things you want to achieve in your life.

What do you want to be and how do you want to design the story of your life. Take a pause and think about it.

To achieve goals, you have to write them down.

“Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible”.

-Tony Robbins

To make your dreams come true, you have to make goals. Goals are important to make you focused and inspired.

5 benefits of setting a goal

  1. Goals will set a deadline for you

When you set goals for yourself, it will give you a proper timeframe to finish a particular task.

“Deadlines refine the mind. They remove variables like exotic materials and processes that take too long. The closer the deadline, the more likely you’ll start thinking waaay outside the box”.

-Adam Savage

Deadline will help you to be focused and finish your work quickly.

For example, if you are preparing for a tough examination, you have to work every day hard. You have to practice every day to perform well on the day of the exam.

To clear a competitive exam, you have to make daily goals to achieve success. For a year or more, you have to be consistent with your daily goals to achieve success in the examination. Therefore, when you have daily goals in your mind, it’s easy to make your day productive.

2. Goals will give you a direction

As I said earlier, when you procrastinate you don’t have any idea about what to do next? The goal will clarify your future.

“If you don’t know where you are going, you will probably end up somewhere else."

–Lawrence J. Peter

For example, if your goal is to win a state tournament match. You have to practice your game every day is your daily goal to achieve long goals. Your goal of winning a match gives you a direction that you have to practice your game every day.

Just like this, if you want to be an entrepreneur. First, you have to come up with a plan. Goals will help you to write down your path or plan to achieve what you want.

3. Goals are a great source of motivation in those low days

Everyday, is not going to be a wonderful day. You have to work hard to make your ordinary day an extraordinary day.

Someday, when you wake up you have a clear idea about your daily goals and you are inspired to do everything.

“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal." –Henry Ford

When you are going through that low day when nothing seems alright, those written goals that you stick on your study desk will help you to be productive. It will inspire you like nothing else because you want to achieve success.

4. Goals gives you sense of purpose

It’s important to have a purpose in life. Life without a purpose is like a body without a soul. Purpose gives meaning to your life.

‘The trouble with not having a goal is that you can spend your life running up and down the field and never score."

–Bill Copeland

When you set a goal, it will help you to reach your full potential. You will try everything to fulfill your goals.

5. Goals increase your satisfaction and happiness

When you know what you want to do, you have that personal satisfaction. You don’t worry about what you have to do next when you have a clear goal in your mind. Sometimes, we spend more time worrying about the future rather than working.

When you reach your goals, you will be happier and appreciate your capabilities.

Now when you know the importance of setting a goal in your life. It’s time to write about today’s Prompt.

Today’s prompt is,
