5 Brutal Truths About NoFap I See Barely Anyone Talking About
It’s neither superhuman magic nor a fad

NoFap or abstaining from porn and masturbation is one of the most powerful things you can do as a man. Period.
“Upon the proper use and conservation of sexual force, the progress of civilization itself depends.”
— Orison Swett
But the internet shows a stark dichotomy — harsh skeptics bashing it as hogwash vs. fanatics worshipping it as superhuman magic.
This is a lose-lose scenario. You’ll either ridicule NoFap and not even try it or dive into it with unrealistic expectations — only to give up disappointed.
NoFap’s benefits are plenty and real — a crazy energy boost, sharper focus, more boldness, higher self-esteem, surged motivation levels, and healthier female interactions.
But it’s far from “rainbows and sunshine” — only by internalizing some brutal truths will you succeed on your NoFap journey.
NoFap Isn’t an End in Itself
Divorcing your hand from your crotch and your eyes from naughty pixels won’t automatically metamorphose your life.
It’s only the means to an end. You need to transmute the saved sexual and mental energy into productive activities.
Otherwise, the pent-up energy will bubble up as frustration, anxiety, and thoughts of relapses.
It’d be a shame to waste that buzzing reservoir of energy and quit NoFap with, “Bah! It didn’t work.”
Start working out. Develop good habits. Shatter the chains of bad habits. Fix your sleep routine. Develop a meditation practice. Chop down your social media usage. Hang out with positive people. Read good books.
When you focus on yourself, relapsing becomes an after-thought.
Relapses Don’t Negate All Your Progress
If you’ve religiously stuck to your diet for a month, would binging on a single cheat meal undo all your fat loss progress?
Of course not — you’ll move on, hop back on your routine, and continue to make kick-ass progress.
Similarly, a single relapse won’t “reset” your NoFap progress. Accept it as a lapse, avoid binging with the “I’ve anyway relapsed! Let me make the most out of it” excuse, and move on.
Relapses will happen — it took me 150+ relapses to reach my current 80+ day streak.
Starting NoFap with the “I won’t ever relapse” mindset will only make you MORE likely to relapse.
Named the Chaser effect, the urge to relapse is tremendously powerful the first 1 to 3 days after sex or a relapse — fight this with all your willpower.
Post that, forget that you’re even on NoFap — the more you focus on it, the higher the chance of a relapse, and the sh*ttier you’ll feel.
There Isn’t a Magical NoFap Timeline with “Phases”
Some of the most popular YouTube NoFap videos are about its different “timelines” — with creative names such as Warrior, Spartan, King, God phase, and so on.
This is utter B.S. Changes will occur — drastic ones if it’s your first good streak (over 9 to 11 days).
The surge in energy and motivation can be superpower-like — because you’ve quit a habit you’ve probably had since puberty.
But depending on how addicted to porn you were and how frequently you used to masturbate, your NoFap results will vary.
While one might experience God-tier confidence within the first 5 days, another might feel “flat-lined” even on the 20th day.
NoFap works — just don’t track your days and await the next “phase” with fervor.
Forget that you’re on it and focus on yourself — physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Don’t Focus on “Getting Laid Like a Warlord”
Not sacrificing your seed to fake pixels sends evolutionary-level attraction signals to women.
Also, given how hard NoFap is, the “Heck! I’m a winner” feeling bleeds into your gait, posture, bearing, and aura.
But going into NoFap expecting to get a ton of female action defeats the entire purpose.
The mission of NoFap is to overcome your sexual need and transmute the energy into life-transforming results.
Substituting masturbation for sex will set you up for failure — be it a dry phase or a lockdown, when your supply of sex is cut off for even a teeny bit, you will relapse.
This doesn’t mean becoming a celibate ascetic — it only means focusing on yourself and letting women be a part and reward for your self-improvement.
Sex or no sex. Women or no women. Day or night. Ensure NoFap goes on.
Funnily, this mindset shift will actually “get you laid”—because non-neediness is one of the most attractive qualities out there.
It Isn’t a Challenge But A Lifestyle
Completing a 7, 14, or even 90-day NoFap challenge and diving back into porn annuls all your effort.
The central purpose of NoFap is to make you quit porn forever.
The recommended 90-day abstinence is to allow your mind enough time to “rewire”. In such a cleansed state of mind, you could:
- Challenge yourself further with “hard-mode” or NoPMO (as I’ve done)—no porn, masturbation, or orgasm.
- Reintroduce masturbation into your life — ensuring it doesn’t affect your dating life and life goals in any manner.
- Rule out masturbation and only stick to sex for your physical needs.
NoFap is now an interminable part of your lifestyle — the onus is on you to figure out the nuances.
