5 Actionable Steps to Become Insanely Consistent
Everyone can unlock the skill of consistency
Do you ever set goals for yourself and make a really solid action plan to achieve them, but never achieve success?
Well, this might be because you lack consistency. Consistency is the key to success.
Having the ability to show up every day and put in the work toward your goal will make you successful.
In this article, I’m going to share 5 actionable steps that will help you become more consistent.
What is Consistency?
Consistency is the the ability to focus on the task at hand while maintaining a long-term vision.
For example, if your long-term vision is to grow on medium then you need to be consistent. If you engage with others every day, and write multiple articles a week then you will see growth.
Consistency means putting in the work every day to reach your long-term goals.
Many people struggle with consistency because there are so many distractions around us, and we all seek instant gratification.
Most people are not committed and disciplined enough to stick with something in the short term for long-term results.
5 Steps That Will Make You More Consistent
- Patience: Having patience is very important for consistency because success takes time. We are never going to see immediate results, so consistency requires patience.
- Reminders: Sometimes we get really busy and forget to do the small stuff, so setting reminders is a great tool for staying consistent. Using your phone to set reminders is a great strategy because we always have our phones close to us.
- Reward Yourself: Rewarding yourself for completing the small boring stuff is a great way to stay motivated and not lose consistency. Rewarding yourself gives you a higher chance of repeatedly doing that certain task.
- Use Motivational Tools: It’s easy to stay consistent on the good days, but what about the days you’re stressed or tired? Do you let your goals slide? Whenever you feel your goals slipping it’s important to remind yourself why you’re doing it, and find motivation.
- Correct Mistakes: Many people give up and lose consistency whenever they make a mistake. Reflecting on your mistakes and learning from them is a great tool to stay consistent. (Whenever I fail, instead of giving up I acknowledge what I can do better and that motivates me to keep going.)
Conclusion
Consistency is one of the main ingredients for success. Showing up every day and making an effort will yield results in whatever goal you’re trying to accomplish.
Consistency can be hard, but having patience, setting reminders, rewarding yourself, generating motivation, and correcting mistakes are some actionable steps that will help you be more consistent.
Hopefully, you can apply some of these steps to your life. Thanks for reading!
