Is Change Possible?

Does it matter?

I think we spend too much of our time on the wrong questions.

“Does change matter?” “Can people change?” “Can I change?”

I don’t know, can you?

I would certainly like to believe that change matters, that people can change, and especially that I can change.

I have a handful of wildly ambitious dreams I’m pursuing, so I have no choice but to believe in change.

Pursuing big dreams will require a different me.

People will tell you that change isn’t possible. People will tell you it is and that they have changed themselves.

You’re gonna believe what you believe anyway, so believe it.

Is that the best way to go about something? Believing only what you believe?

Maybe not, but here we go with these questions that don’t have certain answers.

Understand this: The path to achieving your wildest dreams is uncertain. The only choice you have is to believe that you are capable of pursuing something.

The only choice you have is to gauge whether or not your journey would have been worth it if you fail.

I no longer stress about whether or not something is possible for me because I just may convince myself that it isn’t, and that may be the wrong answer…or the right one…

See what I mean? How can we possibly know?

Maybe change is possible for some people and not for others.

Maybe the ones who have changed are the ones who decided it’s possible for them to change. That makes sense, after all. I can’t see someone who doesn’t believe in change, changing.

Come to think of it, I’ve seen many people change from the people I once knew them to be.

It always tends to be something worse, though. But occasionally you have those people who have changed for the better.

I can’t say with certainty whether or not in their soul they are a different person, so why bother trying?

Put your attention toward something else.

Put your attention toward living a life of uncertainty.

I’m not telling you not to form opinions. I’m not telling you not to believe in anything.

I’m telling you to live your life and not others. Find your own answers. Be your own hero.

Believe in change if you want to. Believe in change if you need to.

Keep in mind that some things tend to be more true or certain for those that believe it’s possible in the first place.
