Changed by a Poem

I found a poem today, beautiful, sad, and I read it again, over and over, aloud, drinking and eating the rhyme and rhythm of its intent.

Whispered to myself, its music made me cry.

Shouted to the rafters, the words shattered my heart.

Silent, read inside me, I can’t be the same again.
