When it comes to new year resolution, we all wish for a happier, healthier, and more peaceful year with less stress in our lives. There are many ways people manage stress and reduce the overall stress of daily activities. I have made a list of ways to manage my stress and anxiety in 2022.

Stress is a normal part of human life. Sometimes you feel overwhelmed and stressed at times in your hectic day-to-day life. We often think about how we can manage our stress.

Let’s start with four ways to beat stress in 2022:

Exercise and Be active

Working out regularly or being active is one of the best ways to relax your body and mind. Sometimes, a brisk walk or fresh air can also improve your stress in a stressful situation. The quickest way to relieve stress is to release endorphins through exercise. You are getting your blood moving, which releases endorphins and can improve your mood almost instantaneously. Exercise doesn't mean going to the gym powerlifting; you can be active in any form — Dancing, jogging, walking, running, or Zumba. Sometimes in a stressful situation, a short walk or stretch also helps. Staying active helps and improves symptoms related to common mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression.

Practice Gratitude and Be Positive

Modern life is hectic and stressful. Sometimes we need to slow down and break from our daily routine. Make the balance between your work life and personal life. Take some time to relax, practice gratitude and be positive. Self-doubt, criticism, and negative talks will make you feel stressed many times. Positive words can help you develop a healthier outlook. Gratitude enables you to recognize good things in your life and reminds you to be thankful. Try to write a gratitude journal to help lower stress and better quality of life.

Take a few deep breaths and take the stress off you right away. Meditation on a daily routine can help decrease your stress and anxiety. Many books, meditation apps, and YouTube videos specialize in meditation and mindfulness. Breathing techniques can help you in reducing stress. You can do meditation anywhere; follow these steps:

  1. Sit comfortably, close your eyes.

2. Slowly take deep breaths in and out. As you exhale, imagine that you’re breathing out stress and tension.

3. Breathe in through your nose and count to three to exhale.

4. You can also try Yoga, a light exercise that is an excellent way to relieve stress.

Final Thoughts

Stress is an unavoidable part of life, but that doesn’t mean you should ignore it. We can manage all types of stress with different strategies. If you can’t identify the leading causes of your stress, write in a journal whenever you feel stressed or anxious. Eat healthy food, sleep well, exercise, meditate, take time out and go out with friends.

I hope these techniques can help you during any stressful situation.
