4 Things I Should Have Done When I Was Young
We begin to die from the moment we are born, for birth is the cause of death. The nature of decay is inherent in younth, the nature of sickness is inherent in health, in the midst of life we are verily in death — Gautam Budhha
There is little we can achieve what we desire in this short life. We perceive happiness when we succeed and regret our failure and our regretful act on our past. Success will lead to earning fame and money but failure will only teach lessons. There's no way going back to the past and startup. Hence, what's done is done and what's gone is gone, we can only pass along the voice of experience to the new generation.
5 things the new generation should take away from what I should have done and known:
Obtain financial Knowledge
When I was young I knew money is power and I should earn to make living but lacked to understand the management of wealth. By the age of 18, I started making earning, I had a handsome sum of monthly income. Despite my good earnings, I always ended up with a two-digit sum at the end of every month. The same routine went by all the month and all the year until I realized my lack of financial knowledge. Earning a good amount of wealth does not make anyone wealthy, it is bringing financial knowledge into practical implications that make someone wealthy. Books such as Rich Dad Poor Dad, The Rules of Wealth, Good Debt Bad Debt are the few sources to acquire knowledge on finance.
Explore the World
It is an exciting topic ‘’explore the world’’. Here it does not mean travelling all around the world with your saving. Exploring the world is feasible to any human in this world and the medium to explore is social networks i.e google, youtube, Facebook etc. Gaining information about pretty much everything has been made so much easier this day. The world is so amazing that I think it will be prudent to keep knowledge on it. If I gain one knowledge per day would make 365 knowledge over a year and If I started early I would have several thousand knowledge by now.
Make Friends
When I was in my village I had my friend and needed to travel to the city for better and further education. I had to leave them; when I arrive city I joined private schools there I made other friends. Later, I changed school for higher education I had new friends. So Losing and making friends has been all part of my life. Sometimes I mulled and think it was not strenuous to keep up with them forever; I just needed that little effort to either text or call. Today I have very few old friends, Remember! every old friend will carry the memory with you and they will be there to talk about every up and down in your life.
Always keep dreaming
When I was 13, I dreamt to become an Army. In our culture joining the British Gurkha Army from Nepal was quite popular and tough. As I dreamt of it, I started preparing from an early age. By the time I reached selection time, I was a confident and tough guy. I got selected and came to England to persuade my army carrier. As joining the army was only my dream, I stopped dreaming further beyond. I felt the glory and perceived this is it, I did achieve it. But no! I think it was my mistake. There is always something we can achieve and keep dreaming. Plan your journey until and beyond your dream.
Summary
Develop a habit of acquiring financial knowledge.
At least import and save one knowledge to your mind.
Remember to make friends and keep in touch until the last moment of life.
Always plan and execute towards your dream and beyond.
