4 Reasons Why You Should Always Celebrate Your Accomplishments
Both big and small…

A lot of people do not celebrate their accomplishments for various reasons.
While some people are so worried about their next goal(s) that they do not have time to focus on their present success, others are not comfortable with being in the spotlight and may not want to reveal their great and little wins.
Thus, rather than basking in the euphoria of reaching a milestone, they swiftly move to the next.
There is also a third group of people who have repeatedly recorded astounding success so much that they do not consider it important celebrating anything new.
These are the goal-smashers and the record-breakers who have marked great accomplishments in the past and for them, making a giant stride each time is nothing unusual. For these high achievers, there no point recognizing an achievement if it’s not jaw-dropping or outstanding.
Whatever the situation may be, nothing beats recognizing your hard work and loving yourself through it all.
The truth is, your big goals won’t happen overnight. It all starts with the small steps taken each day.
There are some accomplishments you may not regard as remarkable ones, but they are worth celebrating too!

There are many reasons why we should celebrate our wins, regardless of how small or huge they are. Some of these reasons are explained below:
1. Celebration attracts more success
Truly, celebration sets you up for greater success because it motivates you to do more. It encourages you to make additional goals and raise the bar a little higher each time you succeed.
Most times, we are driven to make substantial changes in our lives when we do better. Indeed, a person who is happy with his accomplishments will make efforts to keep at it.
When we celebrate often, it conditions our minds towards seeking more success.

2. It builds your confidence

If you don’t take a moment to celebrate your accomplishments, you may never feel good enough.
Celebrating success is an important part of building self-confidence and self-belief because it is a natural self-esteem booster.
When we make it a point of duty to celebrate our wins no matter how small or big, it will be a constant reminder of how far we’ve made it through life’s journey. It will also give a mental note of how much we have to do to achieve greater feats.
3. By celebrating your wins, you can also inspire others around you
Sharing our success stories could be a motivating factor for others who are watching and paying close attention. It could be a source of encouragement for people following, listening to or reading our stories.
“Anything you have done to make a difference in your own life—or someone else’s—is worth celebrating.”- Claudia Aronowitz
Rather than focusing on the list of things to worry about, relish your moment of greatness and enjoy it while it lasts.
4. It could be an opportunity to reflect on the past and draw lessons
For some people, celebrating their achievement comes with sober reflection and acknowledgment of the hurdles they successfully passed while striving to make it to the top. Other times, it is all about gratitude and moments of thankfulness.
Celebrating doesn’t even have to be anything grand or over the top. It could be a spontaneous dinner or lunch with a friend or a quiet celebration with your family. You could even decide to celebrate alone through some self-care routine. For instance, relaxing and mentally noting your efforts over a cup of coffee.

If you haven’t always celebrated your wins, here’s how you can kick-start the process:
1. Keep a record of your achievements.
Having an achievement list helps you note every accomplishment that you have made.
It doesn’t even have to be fully worded. Pictures can also be added for full imagery effect.
It’s also a good way to keep track of your progress and how well or badly you are doing.
2. Reward yourself whenever you work hard.
As a way to encourage myself, I usually write what I would do if I reach a particular milestone. This is usually based on the targets I have set for myself.
On days when things go right, there is an extra-special treat. If otherwise, no reward.
No accomplishment, no reward.
3. Avoid putting too much pressure on yourself
There is nothing wrong with setting deadlines for your goals, but it should come with flexibility. In a bid to reach your targets, do not stretch yourself thin.
Take a break when necessary so that you will feel energized enough to manage whatever stress you may be feeling.
