4 Reasons To Do Your Christmas Shopping Now
The last reason is concerning

I recently finished my Christmas shopping even though we haven’t made it past Halloween. I usually do most of my Christmas shopping in late November and early December, but this year is different.
Most people think about the holidays as the temperature drops, and Christmas music fills the airwaves. Waiting until the last minute to do your Christmas shopping is risky, especially this year.
While holiday shopping may not be on the top of your radar, you’ll have to do it eventually. Here are five reasons to start now rather than wait for early December.
Affordable Shipping
Since I bought everything a few days ago, I don’t care if it takes a month for everything to arrive. A sizable time window gives consumers greater flexibility with shipping.
You can opt for the most affordable shipping instead of the fastest choice. Faster delivery costs more money, and if Christmas is less than a week away, many families will make that extra expense.
Buying gifts well before the deadline makes shipping more affordable.
More Time To Find The Right Gift
A longer timeframe gives your mind more time to explore different choices rather than buying the first viable gift you see. You can browse through various products without feeling the same stress as studying for finals the night before.
You can expand your search using a site like Etsy to find customized gifts. I do most of my Christmas shopping on Etsy nowadays.
Headspace To Think Of Additional Ideas
When you buy a gift, it no longer occupies space in your head. You can rest assured knowing some gifts will arrive. The extra headspace will help you think of additional gift ideas for your recipients.
Even if you do not buy additional gifts, early purchases provide greater peace of mind. You can cruise through the holiday season knowing the shopping is done.
Supply Chain Issues
The first three reasons for early Christmas shopping apply every year. Issues within the supply chain reside as the Grinch in the room. Goods are becoming more scarce, and prices are rising.
American Trucking Associations CEO Chris Spear stated the U.S. needs 80,000 truckers. We have gaps everywhere we look. An unchanged supply of goods will result in higher prices to lower demand.
These shortages have persisted for several months. What do you think will happen to existing shortages during the busiest time of the year? Companies hire holiday workers to accommodate demand over the holidays.
More Americans are leaving their jobs. They don’t want to return to low-paying jobs that don’t provide a proper work-life balance. They don’t want to get penalized for taking bathroom breaks.
None of this looks good for a global economy reeling from growing supply chain issues. The situation could get better before the holidays, but I wouldn’t bet on it. Rather than take a chance, I ordered my Christmas gifts extra early.
