Summary

The COVID-19 pandemic has unveiled deep-seated societal issues, prompting a reevaluation of life's priorities and the realization of systemic deceptions in our personal and collective lives.

Abstract

The article reflects on the unintended revelations brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting how it has exposed long-standing societal deceits. It suggests that despite the dire consequences, the pandemic has not been entirely tragic for humanity. Instead, it has served as a catalyst for awakening, forcing individuals to confront the chaos and ego-driven lives that prevailed before the crisis. The piece underscores the loss of personal power to government systems, the illusion of job security, the emptiness of material wealth, and the fallacy of racial superiority. It calls for a shift from a job-centric life to one that embraces personal potential and passion, emphasizing that the pandemic has equalized humanity, revealing that material possessions and racial distinctions are immaterial in the face of a global crisis. The author encourages readers to learn from these realizations and strive for a more purposeful, passionate, and united life post-pandemic.

Opinions

  • The pandemic has revealed the extent to which individuals have relinquished control over their lives to government systems, leading to a dependency that strips away personal agency.
  • The societal push for traditional education and employment, termed "the good life," is seen as a form of control that limits personal freedom and wealth creation.
  • The high unemployment rates during the pandemic have exposed the fragility of job security, suggesting that the concept of employment is a societal deceit.
  • Material possessions, once a measure of success, have been proven irrelevant during the pandemic, as they offer no real advantage during a crisis.
  • Racial distinctions and the notion of racial superiority have been discredited by the pandemic, which has affected all races indiscriminately, highlighting the unity of humanity.
  • The author advocates for a life driven by passion and innate potential, which offers true sustainability and cannot be taken away by external forces.
  • The article concludes with a call to action for individuals to emerge from the pandemic with a renewed sense of purpose and a commitment to fostering a more loving and interconnected world.

4 Life Secrets Exposed by COVID-19 That You Will Never Believe

They’ve been with us for long that nobody believed were deceits

“We have to talk about liberating minds as well as liberating society”-Angela Davis

How would you talk about the Covid-19 situation if, you are asked about it today?

Would you talk about it as a blessing or a curse?

Would be ever grateful for it or you will go mad about it?

Well, to some of us while it’s a blessing, some people out there take it to be a curse.

But whichever way you look at the puzzle, you’ll be honest with yourself that, it hasn’t been that much of a tragedy to humanity although the consequences have been dire as it has brought some realisation to us about life.

Before the pandemic, the world was in chaos. Yes! Extreme chaos if you wouldn’t take my assertion to be an exaggeration. We were running at a speed that we didn’t deserve to, fighting to be a the top of the ladder of whatever that we were doing with our fellows. And we didn’t care about what happening in the environment whether our behaviours were harming others or not.

We didn’t give a fuck! Harsh huh?

We were competing and fighting each other all in the name of attaining supremacy.

Our ego selves were what were ruling us, and we didn’t give a second thought of it.

We contaminated our emotional world as well as the psychological world and never cared about it. We infected our physical world without thinking that, the kind of actions we putting out there in return will be a harm to us.

We hated each with no thought that we live in the same world and the life of each matter.

Take a look at the George Floyd incident and the way it happened amidst the pandemic.

The racial discrimination, the injustice among us, the ism and schism, today, this person has done this, tomorrow that.

The propaganda in the news, the political inequality, rivalry among nations. Robbery, drug abuse, gang warfare etc.

All these issues which nobody cared about, have now been exposed, making us rethink about life and how we must deal with them objectively as a people, and below I discuss the deceit by society revealed by the pandemic.

The systemic deceit

Our world today is designed in such a way that, the once upon a time power that, we had to be the masters of our fate and captains of our souls, is no more. The big dogs have taken it.

And we are preferably made to depend on a government economic machinery where to do and have whatever it is that we want, the government has to provide that, and without the government, we have no life.

“The system! The whole stinking ball of wax. It’s a scam” — Vermin Supreme

People depend on the government, losing their power to think, create and be the masters of their lives to the government, and it the decision-maker and the dictator of lives every day — something that has gone on, for long.

But through Covid-19, by people losing their jobs and the government not able to meet up the needs of the people, this systemic deceit has been exposed, making people rethink of themselves again concerning their lives.

The job deceit

For our lives to be ruled and controlled, society has conditioned and programmed us to go to school, have the education and get a job — what they call “the good life”.

But this idea of “the good life” that they tell us is never real. It’s big deceit.

Why?

Because they know if they tell us to look within us for our innate potentials and develop it and create businesses from it, we will be wealthy and free. They wouldn’t have anyone to control and rule over.

Therefore, through our parents and families, they condition us to work at jobs in other to get their mission of ruling the people accomplished.

But if you look at what has happened in this pandemic concerning jobs, you will understand that the idea of working at a job is deceit and there is no life in having a job. Instead, a business through your passion and what you love. That’s where there’s life.

As of April 2020, the number of people who were unemployed in the U.S alone stood at over 23million — department of numbers. A figure I believe has risen after that time, although they claim has declined.

So the question is; Isn’t the idea of a job, deceit when those in charge of the system know that, jobs can’t sustain the lives of people? That’ if they should lose the job right now, it’s a problem for them and their families. Isn’t the idea deceit?

Yet they keep telling us to look for a job instead of developing our innate potential and making a living from it — something that nobody can fire you from.

It’s a pity.

The material deceit

The idea of an individual being successful by the amount of material possession they have portrayed by the media and society is one of the greatest deceit in the world that, the pandemic has exposed.

Before this day, the amount of material stuff possessed by an individual was the benchmark for success. But immediately the pandemic set in, this belief has died out.

We’ve all seen it. Haven’t we?

The reason! Because you couldn't do anything or go anywhere with your material stuff. The bunch of clothes, cars, etc., were all locked down, including you.

That, that part of you — your ego, that makes you think you are better than your fellow being because of their lack of the material stuff you have, got killed.

You realised that there's more to life than material stuff. You realised that, if the unfortunate should happen today, that material stuff can’t do anything for you.

Jason Versey puts it well; “the wisdom of nature continues to teach humanity that the materials…is immaterial”.

The racial deceit

The philosophy that holds one race superior to the other is discredited.

Covid-19 has proved that we are all the same people irrespective of your colour, creed or economic status.

That, being green, blue, white, or whatever, everyone matters.

That, you are not better than your fellow being like society has conditioned you to think—neither the colour of your skin being, a thing.

Why?

Because with the pandemic, all men were affected. The virus didn’t affect black people leaving the white folks or vice-versa. It didn’t affect the Chinese leaving Europeans.

This proves that the idea of one race being better than the other is not valid. It’s a deceit to let us lead egocentric lives instead of living in love and loving each other as said by Alex Harley;

“Racism is taught in our society. It is not automatic. It is learned behaviour towards persons with dissimilar physical character”.

And if look at what has happened in this pandemic, you will realise that, the idea of one being better than their fellow is not valid. But something that, we were taught based on someone’s thinking.

Final thought

Covid-19, as far as our lives on the planet are concerned, has been tragic to us but not entirely if you look at the realisations it has brought to us.

That with it, the so many ills that have engulfed us a people that nobody cared about, we do care about them now. And, as we are doing what we can to get out of the situation, most of us have advised ourselves and moving on, we aren’t going back to the egocentric lives that we were living, again.

The great king Solomon once said; there’s nothing new under the sun.

So we’re going to get out of it. This too, shall pass. And as it passes, make up your mind to live a purposeful life — a life full of passion and hope to make the world a better place.

We’re in this together, and we’re one people. Let’s live in love.
