4 Life-Lessons I’ve Learned While Making Tea

Can you imagine making tea can teach you something? Yes. It can. Here’s what I’ve learned about life by making tea.

I am a vicious reader. And I cannot even express how much reading has changed my life. If it weren’t for reading, I wouldn’t have changed the way I view life. Now, I used to observe even the little things around me and imagine what I can learn from nature? Because nature is the best teacher. And if you observe enough, there are tons of things that you can know even in simple everyday tasks.

I am a coffee lover, but the other way, some guests asked me to make tea for them. Now, I know the basics of making tea which my mom taught me. So, I went into the kitchen and did my best to make that tea.

While doing so, there were certain things that I’ve learned. I am happy to share these things with you.

1. The Ingredients — Organize Your Life

Before you make the tea, you must gather the ingredients or know that you have all the things with you. Because even if there is one thing missing water, tea bag, milk, kettle, or sugar, you cannot make that tea.

In life, if you are starting a project or doing something important, it is wise to look if you have all the things with you. Because if you start work without organizing it, there will be a delay in work.

Ingredients of the tea are like necessary things needed to make the tea. When you do anything in life, it has to be done in an organized manner. And to organize it, you first need to gather all the tools, resources, or people you need to achieve it.

When you feel like things are not working out in life, try to gather the ingredients and do it again.

2. The Order Of Ingredients Matter

In making a tea, you need to follow specific steps. You cannot boil the milk and put tea in it. First, you need to boil the water, put sugar, and then put tea and wait for some time to make the perfect tea.

You cannot displace the order and expect that you will make an excellent tea. It will ruin the tea for sure.

In life, you learn things every day. You cannot study high school before you complete your junior school. Everything comes in order. Follow the order.

Moreover, mishaps happen, no need to get upset. Think of it as a part of the grand plan of GOD. You are destined to succeed, but to make that happen, you must go through some failures to learn the necessary things that will help you once you get successful.

3. Boiling The Tea Improves The Taste

The more you boil the tea, the greater the taste will be. I mean, this is one of the most amazing things I’ve learned about making tea. If you boil plane water, nothing happens; if you boil milk, nothing will happen, but boiling the tea and more boiling makes it tasty.

Life is not meant to be lived robotically. You wake up, go to work, have lunch, come back, watch tv, eat dinner, and sleep. For five days a week, you follow the same routine. That is not how life is meant to be lived. If you want to succeed in life, you need to take risks, build the habit of working under pressure. Because while you think that stress might destroy you, it doesn’t.

GOD has gifted you potential. It takes years to explore that potential. You need to work hard and smart to know yourself. And when you take risks, work under tight deadlines, you get to create solutions fast.

I am not at all advocating that you keep working under tight deadlines. I am saying that you need to expose yourself to new things every day to improve your life. Because when you interact with more people, use new tools, learn a new language, or find a simple way to do a complex task, this makes you a true human.

4. Filter The Tea Before Pouring It

Before you pour the tea into a cup, you need a strainer to filter tea leaves before pouring them into cup.

Every day you’ll be exposed to negative energy. It’s up to you to filter out everything that is not serving you well. The toxic people, the hostile environment, your past, and even thinking negative about the future.

The way to live a happy life is to live in the moment. When you live in the moment, it filters the negative past, and you don’t even think anything negative about the future.

Richard Carlson, in his fantastic book, Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff, shares:

“Meanwhile, life keeps moving forward. The truth is, there’s no better time to be happy than right now. If not now, when?”

Closing Thoughts

Making tea is a simple thing. But if you observe it, you can learn something about it too. If you want to succeed in life, take time and observe the world around you.

Do small things with focus, attention, and care. If I can learn things from making tea, maybe you can learn something from going on a walk or washing wishes.
