4 Items Under $100 That Improved My Quality Of Life

Hopefully, they’ll do the same for you

If you’re reading this, you probably want to make 2022 the best year of your life (so far). Perhaps you want to increase your income, learn a new language, or read more books.

But chances are, you’re busy. You don’t have several hours in the day to apply every single productivity tip you read on the internet. Of course not. You have a job, family, and other things that require your precious time.

While I don’t pretend to have all the answers, I can certainly give you recommendations that worked for me. These items cost less than $100 and massively improved my quality of life. Hopefully, they’ll do the same for you, too.

1) YouTube Premium

In my opinion, this is the best subscription on the internet.

It costs roughly $10 per month (depending on your location) and allows you to watch videos without advertisements. Plus, you can download YouTube videos to watch offline. It’s brilliant.

On average, I watch YouTube videos for 3.5 hours per day. And since ads play at the beginning and middle of many videos, it doesn’t take a genius to do some math and calculate how much time I waste watching ads per month. For anyone interested, it’s ten hours.

I can easily earn upwards of $100 for every hour I spend working. So now that I have an extra ten hours per month thanks to YouTube premium, my income, and net worth have both skyrocketed.

My return on investment for ten bucks a month is brilliant.

2) Laptop Backpack

As a full-time writer, I love writing in different locations.

I’ve written articles on the train, plane, and next to the Eiffel Tower. And while it would normally be a pain in the ass to carry my laptop from one place to another, owning a laptop bag allows me to do it with ease.

There’s a cute pocket in the back specifically designed to carry laptops. In the front, there’s another pocket for tablets. There are also several other pockets for water bottles, books, and other important items.

I purchased my laptop bag for approximately $45. However, you can buy cheaper or more expensive versions if you desire.

3) Noise Cancelling Headphones

According to data published by INC Magazine, it can take 23 minutes to recover from a distraction at work. If you’re on a tight schedule, any type of distraction can be disastrous for productivity.

Take a moment to imagine you’re working from home. Your spouse is watching TV at an excessively loud volume during a Zoom Meeting. Your kids are arguing and running around the house while you’re working on a new project. And the sound of cars driving past makes you lose your train of thought. Loud noises are extremely distracting, right?

Noise-canceling headphones are a lifesaver if you want to focus in busy environments. They block out background noise so you can focus solely on your work and anything else that requires high levels of concentration.

Most electronics stores (such as BestBuy) sell noise-canceling headphones for less than $100. Alternatively, you can purchase a pair on Amazon for a reasonable price.

4) Portable Phone Charger

One of the most horrific experiences in the world is seeing your phone run out of battery when you’re nowhere near a power outlet.

That happened to me in Australia. I was in a forest and struggled to find my way out. My phone died. I didn’t have a backup source of power. And to be completely honest with you, I was terrified that I’d never escape.

Now, I’ve learned from my mistakes. Whenever I go anywhere, I bring a portable charger in my backpack, so I don’t have to worry about my phone dying. Having a portable charger is also great for planes, trains, and other forms of transportation since I can watch Netflix to pass the time without draining my phone’s battery.

Even though my portable charger only costs $30, the peace of mind it has given me is priceless.

Since I purchased the above items for under $100, my quality of life has exponentially improved. Now, it’s a lot easier to be productive and focus on the things that matter. Hopefully, they will do the same for you, as well.
