I’m currently taking an in-depth copywriting course.

This has not only opened up my inner world, it has catapulted my skills to the next level.

I’m so excited about some of the awesome things I’m learning, I had to share!

Below are 4 new tools I just learned about. May they be of benefit and give you some technical help along the way.

HemingwayApp

HemingwayApp is a free service similar to how Grammarly is set-up, with a few differences.

This service shows you the readability based on grade level, alerts you when you are speaking in a passive voice, and lets you know if a sentence is too difficult to understand.

This is a great tool for copywriters because unlike Grammarly (which can be a little stuffy in its suggestions), this service helps make your writing more conversational and steamlined.

Quetext

Quetext is a plagiarism checker.

If you write a lot of content, this is a good way to make sure it isn’t too similar to something already published.

Keep in mind that colloquialisms and commonly used phrases will be shown in the results. It’s okay to use them. Go with your gut.

Headline Analyzer

Headline Analyzer is a great free tool for your headlines (obviously!).

This service gives your headline a score based on a few different factors: SEO value, readability, and sentiment.

My teacher suggests a score of 70 or better for getting the most out of your headlines.

Capitalize My Title

How many of us have stared at a computer screen trying to figure out if we should capitalize something or leave it in lower case? I know I have!

I was so excited to learn about Capitalize My Title. Just put your title in and let it do the rest!

No more sweating the small stuff (or the lower case words, that is!).

Enjoy these tools! What are some of your writing goodies? I’d love to know in the comments!
