4 Authentic Japanese Snacks You Must Try
So delicious!
Mochi

The first Japanese snacks are mochi’s. A Mochi is a rice cake made from mochigome. The mochigome is a fluffy dough, almost like a marshmallow with a little bit of a floury taste.
Inside you will find a filling. There are hundreds of flavors: green tea, black sesame, mango, and matcha latte.
They typically cost about $2 for a box of 6 mochi’s.
Ramune Drink

These little refreshing drinks come in bottles of 200 ml. They have a weird little alien face at the top. They are quite special because they don’t have a classic bottle cap. The unlocking mechanism contains a glass marble. The marble keeps the carbonation inside the bottle.
When you opened the bottle, the marble falls into the nape of the alien.
In total, there are 57 Ramune flavors. They cost about $3 per drink.
Toasted Bean Snack

This snack is the weirdest of all. The pack contains fried beans with a flavor of choice. They have 5 flavors including, seasoned, with sugar, and barbeque. They cost around $1 per pack.
Nissin Instant Demae Ramen Noodles

I couldn’t make a list of Japanese snacks without mentioning the iconic Demae Ramen. Nissin Ramen was invented in 1958 in order to end hunger in Japan due to the US occupation.
Nissin Ramen is delicious, nonperishable, cheap, and easy to prepare. They come in 6 different flavors. I think that soy sauce is the best.
They are so easy to prepare, just put them in boiling water for 3 minutes, and done. Per package, they cost around $0,60.
