Watching and Re-Watching

One way to deal with stress

Wish I had a stellar response of how to deal with stress, and immersing myself in a well-loved film, is the best way to go for me!

I click on the opening scene and feel my shoulders relax. It’s a natural stress reducer and by the movie’s end I’m calmer, more confident, ready to take on the world again or, at least, begin dancing my stress away!

Watching my favorite film over and over and over again keeps it all in perspective.

Same film, but a new problem to solve today; same movie but a different life situation to address.

Same, familiar movie is my reassuring background for each new stress I encounter.

It’s like an old friend who reminds me I am always coping and growing, growing and coping, always adding a new dimension.

How many times do I watch this yet it still calms me in times of stress? French film, The Intouchables, will pull me out of myself.

Stress begins to fade as I immerse myself in the film’s storyline and I feel soothed, reassured that I can conquer today.

Thank for you your invitation to join the poetry challenge, Lucy Dan!
