The Truth About Stability

Sorry to break the news, but you were lied to. And so did I.

Stability doesn’t really exist. It's a mere concept that we created to give us a sense of safety.

But the reality is that nothing is stable forever in our lives. Just like the weather, things can change in a blink.

Worst Case Scenario

I ask you to please don't be scared by the things I’ll list right now. This list may be shocking for some people, but it’s the most honest, brutal truth. In the next subheading, I’ll share the uplift side of this list, don't worry.

Have you ever thought about the worst-case scenario of each area of your life?

  • The 9–5 job: You can get fired, or the company may close.
  • The love of your life: That person may leave you, and vice-versa, or they can get into an accident, or simply die of old age.
  • Investments: Everything fluctuates a lot, I don’t even need to list, right?
  • Entrepreneurship: Things may go sideways, you may lose some money, and get anxious and depressed.
  • Health: You may get sick, or worse.
  • Your house: There may appear some mold, infiltrations, or some kind of home accident.
  • Kids: You may get into a huge fight and stop talking, they may rebel and leave, or get into an accident.

I’m not saying that to frighten you. You may even be shocked for me to bring up those subjects since I always bring up the positive and mindful side of things.

But it's important to have our feet on the ground, even as positive people.

I’m here to open your eyes so you don’t get fooled, for you to take the best actions possible, and have a happy, fulfilling life, in all areas.

Create a Happy Fulfilling Life

Here’s the better twist of the depressive examples I gave above, with tips on actions you may take, so that those terrible scenarios can be avoided:

  • The 9–5: Do your best, make friends, and keep learning.
  • The love of your life: Declare your love daily, listen to what they say, and be compassionate and loving.
  • Investments: Research, always keep an eye on your assets, and study the market where you want to invest.
  • Entrepreneurship: Study a lot, do your best, show up frequently, and believe in yourself.
  • Health: Eat better, sleep well, drink lots of water, exercise, and do medical check-ups. Be mindful of your actions so you don’t hurt yourself accidentally, and do some kind of therapy to have a healthy mind too.
  • House: Take good care of your house, be careful when dealing with fire, teach your kids how to use everything, decorate it with love, incentivize joyful moments, and make it a home.
  • Kids: Be present, declare your love daily, pay attention to what they share with you, and have fun with them.

See? It’s a matter of perspective. By doing the best you can in each area knowing the dark opposite of that, you cultivate better outcomes.

It may sound weird, but knowing the worst-case scenario helps soothe anxiety. Instead of thinking: “Oh, what if XYZ happens?”, you’ll know what the worst may be, so you can act the best you can to not let that happen. It’s freeing, actually.

Would you add any extra tips to this list?

Stability Does Not Exist

One of my mentors in the past always said that “stability doesn't exist”, and I couldn't agree more.

You can’t take anything for granted.

Even the most ‘stable’ things may collapse for many imaginable and unimaginable reasons — nature has the habit of doing that sometimes, you know…

But that's the fun of life. It’s an adventure, a journey. And we need to appreciate the present moment, cherish everything we have, hope, and work for a better future.

Here are the greatest lessons I took from that concept of stability:

  • Be flexible
  • Don’t get attached to anything
  • Love other people — but don't let your happiness depend on them
  • Love yourself first — that’s the only way of truly loving others
  • Be grateful for everything you have — that is the path to abundance.

I hope this post brought some light into your life.
