Flowering Is Not The Experience Of “Flowering”
A Poem

Asking for the meaning of a flower Ignores the flowering. A flower is not the experience of flowering, Nor is the experience of flowering, flowering. What we can know is ourselves And no other; no one other either. But not as a scientist knows a flower; Or as an artist knows images of flowers. Not even as a poet who speaks of flowering Do we know with immediacy and presence: Flowering; we are not flowers, nor do we flower. But humans share the same root system as flowers. Humans live, and living think, and thinking speak. This is like flowering; not the experience of Flowering; to be is to be present and yet — Unaccounted for. It is in the accounting that we lose ourselves; Not through miscoding to the wrong account — “I am some no one” — but through the commencement of coding. Yet everyone demands an account! Demanding a pointing out: “I am some one,” speaks the thoughts that humans think. “I am no one,” speaks the thoughts that humans think. Yet, speaking thoughts that humans think is flowering For Humans; to be is to be what your are, and that is not no thing. No thing neither speaks nor flowers. Parmenides pointed that out!
