31 Day Preptober Writing Prompt Challenge
Get to know yourself and your book before NaNoWriMo starts!
Long before the daily slog of NaNoWriMo writing begins, the stress of planning must happen.
Whether you are going into Preptober with no idea of what you’re writing, or your outline is ready and waiting, these prompts will help you get into the right frame of mind for smashing through the upcoming November challenge.
Both of us (KP_the_writer & Kristy Westaway) will be answering these questions over the month as we go.

Day 1: What is the title or working title of your book? What is the meaning behind your title?
Day 2: What are the themes or tropes that are central to your book?
Day 3: Introduce your Main Character.
Day 4: What is your favourite music to write to? What songs represent your Main Character?
Day 5: Are you a plotter or a pantser? What are your experiences with each?

Day 13: Which actors would you cast for your main characters?
Day 14: Do you have a writing buddy? Human or pet, tell us about them.
Day 15: What treats will you reward yourself with during NaNoWriMo?
Day 16: What is your main character’s favourite plant, and why?
Day 17: What was your antagonists favourite game as a child, and why?
Day 18: Describe your story from the point of view of a character who never appears in your book.
Day 19: What 3 words would your main character use to describe themselves?
Day 20: Do you feel ready for NaNoWriMo? What can you do in the next 10 days to get ready?
Day 21: Has your antagonist ever been in love before?
Day 22: To you, what makes a good book?
Day 23: What is your main characters worst habit?
Day 24: What are 3 pieces of information for NaNoWriMo newbies? OR What are 3 challenges that you think you will face during NaNoWriMo?
Day 25: Describe the last time someone said ‘Don’t worry about me’ to your main character.
Day 26: Write a journal entry from the point of view of your antagonist.
Day 27: Which popular meme best describes/relates to your book?
Day 28: Describe your favourite location to write from.
Day 29: Do any of your characters have pets or animal sidekicks?
