Long before the daily slog of NaNoWriMo writing begins, the stress of planning must happen.

Whether you are going into Preptober with no idea of what you’re writing, or your outline is ready and waiting, these prompts will help you get into the right frame of mind for smashing through the upcoming November challenge.

Both of us (KP_the_writer & Kristy Westaway) will be answering these questions over the month as we go.

If you tag your prompt response posts with ‘charactercollective‘ then we’ll all be able to find each other. Think of it as a built-in Writing Buddy Finding System, like Tinder for writers…kind of…

Day 2: What are the themes or tropes that are central to your book?

Day 3: Introduce your Main Character.

Day 5: Are you a plotter or a pantser? What are your experiences with each?

Day 6: Describe one of the locations in your book using the 5 senses.
