Have you ever wondered why some people seemingly get what they want with less effort while you’re pushing, chasing, doing what you’re told, and the results aren’t showing up for your life?

After teaching hundreds of students, I’ve noticed patterns that most people struggle with when it comes to creating a life they desire to live.

This list can come across as a list of your shortcomings, even triggering for some of you reading this, and I want you to know that:

What I’ve learned is that, simply put, we cannot change what we don’t acknowledge.

I went through all of it myself, and it took me years to overcome these thoughts, habits, and beliefs that were ingrained into me as an abused child.

Over time, with gentle work, we all have the ability to overcome these challenges and live a life that is truly on our own terms.

Not on anyone else’s, but on our own loving terms.

The problem isn’t that you cannot have whatever you want in your life; the problem is that:

  1. You don’t exactly know what you want — lack of clarity.
  2. Even if you do know what you want, you doubt yourself to achieve it — limiting beliefs.
  3. You’re not clear on ONE thing that you want at a time — confusion.
  4. You want it all at once; your focus is scattered — distracted.
  5. You want it now and don’t like the process — procrastinate.
  6. You are impatient — frustration.
  7. You’d rather rush to get, push to get, than create from an effortless place of calm — working hard rather than smart.
  8. You act from lack, insecurity, worry, doubt rather than trust, belief, love, and abundance — childhood programming.
  9. You want to prove yourself to others, rather than prove yourself to you — people-pleasing.
  10. You don’t believe in yourself enough to take the first or next steps — self-doubt.
  11. You blame others when things don’t go your way — blame/shame.
  12. You are afraid to look at yourself and challenge your beliefs — afraid of the truth.
  13. You fight for your limitations — closed-minded.
  14. You think you know it all — ego.
  15. You act from a place of never having enough, not from a place of there is enough for everyone — scarcity.
  16. You complain more than you appreciate — anger, frustration.
  17. You believe you can do it all alone — ego, defensiveness.
  18. You think you should know better and don’t ask for help — ego.
  19. You waste your time spying on others rather than facing your own demons — envy.
  20. You are afraid to step outside the norm; it’s uncomfortable — fear of uncertainty.
  21. Your life right now is not so bad, so you’d rather stay than try something new — complacent.
  22. You want to hold on to your past stories, rather than start writing a new story for your future — depressed, sad.
  23. You’re used to drama and find comfort in it — childhood programming.
  24. You believe you’re right, rather than have an open mind and become curious — ego.
  25. You know you WANT change but you’re not doing anything about it — disbelief in self.
