Output = Success.

This is going to be short and sweet — read until the end for your challenge!

I was inspired to do this after reading that Shannon Ashley used to write a minimum of 1–2 articles a day. She kept this up for something like 16 months. That’s potentially 60 articles a month! An impressive amount, even for a talented full-timer like her.

In my last two monthly breakdowns, I realised that increasing the sheer volume of my articles is something that I would love to work on. So being the maniac that I am, I decided to start 2021 with a bang.

30 Articles, 30 Days Straight

I decided to complete and submit 30 articles for the month of January. And I’m inviting you to join me!

The challenge is simple. It only has two steps:

  1. Write something down
  2. Hit the submit button

Your story doesn’t have to be published immediately — I know that some pubs can take weeks to get back. And it doesn’t matter how long it is. What matters is you complete your story, and actually submit it! In my experience, these are the two points writers have the most trouble with.

The point of this challenge is to develop a good writing habit, one that focuses on the completion of tasks. Remember, writers don’t get paid for the works they write. They get paid for the works they publish.

The secret to earning money as a writer is to complete, submit, and move on. Rinse and repeat.

The Prize

Now, I’m an up-and-coming writer just like you are. I can’t afford any grand monetary prize.

What I can afford, though, is my time. Should you write and submit all thirty articles by the end of January, shoot me an email. Provide proof. I’ll give you an hour-long Zoom call.

You can ask me anything you want. I’m no Ryan Holiday, but I do have six Top Writer tags and some experience on Medium. I’ll do my best to answer any questions you have. Or, you know, we could just chat. Shoot the shit, as the cool kids say.

Oh, and the challenge? It starts today.

Happy writing, and may the literary gods be ever in your favour.
