Do you know how to use AI to write compelling headlines? Using it is pretty easy and won’t cost you a cent.
This article will show you how to use the free Chrome extension Wordtune Editor to write attention-grabbing headlines that might get you more reads.
Wordtune Editor is an excellent AI writing tool. On their website, Wordtune defines themselves as follows:
Wordtune’s mission is to help you translate your ideas into writing by offering completely new ways to rewrite your sentences and express yourself more successfully. We are a collaborative tool that surfaces smart possibilities and encourages you to explore and consider them — just like a real companion. In addition to being grammatically correct, our rewrite suggestions allow you to perfect your tone, word choice and flow.
In other words, with Wordtune’s rewrite feature, you can transform your writing into more pithy and attention-grabbing content and up your game in a highly competitive market for readers.
There are three methods you could use to input your ideas into Wordtune Editor and let it transform them into excellent titles:
1. Use a fill-in-the-blank blog title template to develop a catchy headline.
2. Use Google snippets to find some inspiration for your headline.
3. Use Wordtune Editor to pull out ideas from your niche and help you develop a headline that’s even more attention-grabbing.
At the moment, I have found that the free version of the extension is enough for my writing needs. You get twenty rewrites per day. However, there are some other interesting features that the paid version has that may be helpful in your writing that you may want to check out. I do not recieve anything if you decide to sign up.
If you’re looking for some inspiration, here is how to use the three ways to use Wordtune to write excellent headlines and subheadlines. For the sake of keeping it simple, the niche example I will use for this article is “facts about dogs.”
How to use Wordtune Editor to write compelling headlines
Use a fill-in-the-blank blog title template
A quick search on Pinterest will provide a plethora of templates to get you started. You can find posts that include samples of numbered lists, how-to’s, helpful tips, and so on.
Here are examples I found that we can apply to our topic:
#(Facts About Dogs) Every (Dog Owner) Should Know About
# (Facts) You Need To Know About (Your Dog)
# (Facts About Dogs) That Will Make You _______
Let’s start with #(Facts About Dogs) Every (Dog Owner) Should Know About. As you can see, the title contains redundancy and is overly used. Here are the steps to rewrite it in Wordtune and find a better title. (Please note that the orange box does not normally appear in the app. It is there because I was using Tango for screen capturing).

Here are some of the rewrites that I liked:
There are a few facts about dogs every dog owner should know
These facts about dogs are crucial for all dog owners
The following are some important facts about dogs every owner should know
Each could be used as a title, subtitle, or article hook to entice the reader to keep reading. However, in my opinion, they still sound fairly generic.
Let’s check the rewrites for the next idea: # (Facts) You Need To Know About (Your Dog):
Here are the most important facts about dogs that you need to know
Here are the top five things you need to know about your dog.
Here are (facts) you should know about your dog
Again, fairly generic and overused.
Let’s try # (Facts About Dogs) That Will Make You _______:
These Dog Facts Will Make Your Heart Break
Facts About Dogs That Will Change Your Mind
# Dog Facts That Will Make You Smile
The Top Facts About Dogs That Will Make You Cry
Here are ten dog facts that will make you love dogs
# Dog Facts That Will Make You Appreciate Them
# Dog Facts That Will Make You Laugh
Way better! In fact, along with being interesting, evoking emotions, and appealing to curiosity, each of these titles takes the broad topic of “facts about dogs” and niches the topic down to engage different audiences. You now have ideas for people who own dogs, who are thinking about owning a dog, and (dare I say it) people who don’t know if they like dogs and need to have their minds changed.
Use Google’s snippet menu.
Create catchy headlines by finding inspiration from Google snippets then use the steps outlined above for using Wordtune editor.

Google is a good place to start when searching for ideas, niching down, or researching your topic. Google’s “featured snippets” drop menu is a good place to look for inspiration because these are the search terms that readers are using when they want to know more about the topic. It is also helpful to learn from the wording of the titles that have made it onto the first page of the search term. You could then add any of the titles to Wordtune to expand your repertoire.
The first page of the search for “facts about dogs” provides multiple ideas for headlines. The title that stood out was 15 Amazing Facts About Dogs That Will Blow Your Mind.
Since we can’t just copy it, let’s add it to Wordtune and see what ideas we can glean from the suggestions:
Here are 15 incredible facts about dogs that will blow your mind
You’ll be blown away by these 15 amazing facts about dogs.
15 Amazing Dog Facts You’ll Never Believe.
The Best Dog Facts You Never Knew.
Unfortunately, in the first three rewrites, the wording is too similar. One way to make it your own, though, is to change the number of facts. Most likely your facts won’t be identical to the ones in the original article anyway. However, you could niche down with the fourth suggestion. The Best Dog Facts You Never Knew is also kind of quirky and invokes curiosity. I also think it sounds less generic than the other suggestions.
Use Wordtune Editor to pull ideas from your niche.
You could also type your topic into Wordtune and see what comes up.
Let’s give it a spin: facts about dogs

Yes! From that sentence alone, my mind is already formating the article hook. I could start the article with, “did you know that dogs_____.” Not only does the tone of the wording invoke curiosity, but it also would be so much fun to write. If I have fun writing the article, it will show in my work, which will keep the reader engaged!
Final Thoughts
And there you have it! Three ways to use AI to write more compelling headlines. Whether you’re using a fill-in-the-blank blog title template, using Google’s snippet menu, or using Wordtune’s rewrite feature, your headlines will be sure to stand out and grab attention.
So give one of these methods a try the next time you need to write a headline!
