3 Traits of Highly Productive People That You Can Steal To Jumpstart Your Productivity
Learn to activate the productivity guru inside of you.

Everyone wishes to get more stuff done in the least amount of time.
Some people want to get more efficient at what they are doing to maximize productivity while others wish to accomplish more.
Whatever you want to do that is related to improving yourself, getting things done on time, etc. you simply have to become productive. This is easier said than done.
There are so many ways to improve productivity but the three traits that I have listed below are some that you can steal to supercharge your productivity and effectiveness.
Highly productive people do this:
They plan ahead and know exactly what they need to do.
Having a plan is one of the best things you can do to improve yourself. When you have a plan, you know steps 1, 2, 3, etc. and how to exactly implement those steps.
Without a plan, you are just like a ship in the middle of the sea that has lost its mechanical power and is thus relying on the natural currents of the water.
By planning, you are able to understand your priorities and how to make the best use of your time to get those priorities done. When you know what you have to get done, it helps you understand your objectives and goals better.
A helpful way to accomplish this is by forming routines. Via routines, you seem to be in control of everything because a good routine is always completed no matter the circumstances.
If you have a night-time routine that you always complete before going to bed, you are always going to do it regardless of the circumstances. If you have a morning routine where you brush your teeth at this time, wash your face at this time, and start working at this time, you always stick by it and this can help you complete big objectives on time.
They don’t get too distracted and always seem to revert back to the task on hand.
Distractions are a normal part of life and the more you try to ignore them, the more they come back at you with full force. The best way to deal with distractions is to embrace them.
Highly productive people tend to use distractions as a way to improve their focus and reach their objectives faster. Instead of fooling around when they need to take a break, these people may:
- Go outside for 20 minutes to walk or breathe in some fresh air
- Interact with friends and family
- Watch an informational video about their work
Even if these productive people do get distracted and end up doing something that harms their productivity, they always seem to revert back to their original task.
Don’t think of distractions as something bad. They only become bad when you choose to indulge in them for long periods of time. By quickly going back to work after “completing” that distraction, you boost your productivity by both being relaxed and satisfied.
They tend to set deadlines for themselves.
If you had to complete a 2-hour assignment that was due in 10 years, would you do it right then or do it almost before those 10 years were due?
“It is a commonplace observation that work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion.”
- Cyril Northcote Parkinson
Without a deadline, people have no incentive or pressure to complete the given task on time. With nothing to force you to complete the given task on time, people have a tendency to keep delaying an important assignment until a moment slaps them on their face and forces them to complete it.
Highly productive people set personal deadlines because they know that it works. These people understand the true value of time and they know that if they want to complete so many of their priorities and tasks on time, they have to have a deadline.
This is a reason why these people plan their day. They know when they will perform or complete a certain objective which is essentially like forming a deadline. Once the time that has been allotted for that task been cleared, these people move on to their other successive tasks.
Final Note
By fully investing in these traits and staying committed to them over the long run, you can be sure that your productivity will skyrocket and you will notice that you can get your work and assignments done on time.
Productive people are serious people which means they know what to focus on and what not to focus on. These 3 traits are extremely powerful if used correctly and consistently.
