3 Things Will Smith Does to Ensure Success & Inner Peace

On Jay Shetty’s Latest podcast, he talks with Will Smith and picks his brain about how he still maintains to stay driven and motivated after many years of success.
Additionally, Will dives deep into finding his mental balance in his chaotic world and the power is manifestation.
Superheroes Got Their Powers Through Hardship.
Peter Parker (Spiderman), Bruce Wayne (Batman), Barry Allen (The Flash). All these superheroes have had hardship and negative life-changing experiences, whether that’s losing their parents or abuse as a child, those experiences had later acted as a trigger for them to gain superpowers.
Now, I’m not saying you’re going to be climbing walls if you face many struggles, but the basic principle of these fictional stories carry weight in the real world.
Will Smith had 2 times in his life where he contemplated suicide, one of them being when his parents divorced. The pain he experienced as a child had later cultivated devotion to improving his own family’s relationship in the future.
Sometimes you have to go through something negative in the present, to know exactly what not to do in the future.
There will always be another side to the coin.
Be Rich in your ‘Hello’s & Goodbyes’
The sudden death of Will’s father taught him that tomorrow is not promised.
When we meet and leave someone, that could have been the last time we ever have an interaction with that person. We need to be rich in our greetings because we never know if we’ll see that person again, leave a good impression and one which you’re proud of.
The Broken Mirror Thought
Someone’s reaction to your behaviour is theirs and your behaviour is yours and when you try to marry the two, that’s the kiss of death. The outcome is not connected to the quality of your behaviour because their approval doesn’t have anything to do with you.
We can get stuck in a situation where we’re seeking other people’s approval for our decisions and behaviour.
We let a ‘broken mirror’ tell us we’re ugly and we try to change the shape of our face to fit that mirror.
“Sometimes we are looking in a broken mirror for a reflection of ourselves” — Will Smith
Have a great week!
