3 Short Stories That Will Spark Creativity In You
As you know from my other stories, a friend of mine once came to me and asked me how he could regain his creativity.
I simply told him the following short stories.
1 The mountain lake
Just recently, I was hiking with a friend. It was the first time for me, and he mentioned that it would be somewhat similar to wandering.
I gave it a try as I love to experience new habits.
After some gentle climbs, we came to a small lodge. The sun was shining, and a light wind was blowing.
A brown dog was sitting at the bottom of the stairs that led into the lodge.
I let my eyes wander around. There were so many things to discover. The most beautiful part was a little lake, just 100 meters away from where I was standing.
Can you see the bright color of it? It was a wonderful mixture of blue and light green. The sun made the lake sparkle in a way I never experienced before.
You could easily see the small round rocks on the edge of the lake. They were just slightly under the water.
Through the wind, you could hear the waves playing with these stones.
Small birds were chirping gently, and the dog was moving slowly towards me.

2 The butterfly
When I play with my nephew, I am always amazed by how fascinated he is with new things.
He is a six-year-old and loves to smile. He is a fast runner and always asks me great questions.
One day, he brought me a cocoon, and he asked me what that is. I was looking around to find a butterfly. And I was lucky as there was one.
“Look over there! There is a butterfly on the lilac. Just on the tip of the purple bud.”
He was smiling again. “Can we go there?” “Sure, we can! We have to move slowly and quietly as we do not want the butterfly to fly away!”
“Okay!”
We made it to the butterfly, and his eyes were wide open as his mouth also was.
The butterfly, with its brown wings and small eyes on them, was beautiful. It merely moved its wings and consumed the lilac.
3 The sunset
Last year, I had the privilege of spending some time on a beautiful island, Sylt.
I was driving in my car, back from a restaurant, and towards a small bar to take a last drink before bedtime.
It was a sunny day, and I enjoyed the drive. Just two kilometers away from the bar was a collection of dunes.
Something inside of me told me: “Take some time for yourself.”
Who am I to not take this voice serious.
I parked the car and took a look at my cellphone. It was 8:20 pm — just thirty minutes to sunset.
There was no need to rush. I walked up the dunes and just seventy meters away from the road, an entirely new world laid in front of me.

The herbs were moving in a slow and relaxing rhythm. The wind was gently blowing in my face, and I started to walk on the sand towards the sun.
Fortunately, the path was easy to walk, and the sand was smooth. I took off my shoes to feel it.
The sun had heated the sand over the day, and I enjoyed a small massage for my feet.
Just ten minutes later, I found myself sitting on a dune and overlooking the beach.
There were only two other people on that beach. Can you imagine this?
How many people take the time to fully enjoy such a moment ? I was happy to sit here and not in a bar.
I could see small birds diving into the water to collect their dinner. It was mysterious.
The sun stained the whole atmosphere in an unreal red tone.

Even the sea took over the magic of this moment.
It almost looked like the sun was only looking down on the three of us.
In moments like this, I remember my grandmother talking to me: “Can you see the beauty of nature?”
She was right.
I sat there for at least an hour. Even though the sun was almost gone, the temperature was pleasing. I couldn’t think of anything else.
Isn’t it a lovely way to end a day?
