3 Reasons Why You Should Upgrade to iPhone 15

The Apple Event ended a few hours ago. Many announcements were made including upgrades for the Apple Watch, a new iPhone 15 lineup, and iCloud among others.
However, the upgrades to the iPhone 15, in particular, were quite intriguing as they checked every box on my list. They definitely make a case as to why I should be upgrading my iPhone soon.
#1 USB-C is here
If you are a long-term iPhone user, then the new announcement that iPhones have a USB-C port should bring relief. Apple users have struggled with carrying a charger for every one of their devices. One for the iPad, a different one for the iPhone, and another for the MacBook.
However, the new lineup of iPhone 15 introduces the USB-C port that makes sure that one charger can be used across all devices.
The introduction of USB-C came about due to regulatory pressure. The European Union made a mandatory requirement for the USB-C port to be used across electronic devices such as tablets, headphones, and mobile phones by the year 2024.
Apple had no option but to abide by the new law.
This is a huge leap and a major win in my books. Carrying one charger for all my devices is cheaper, more convenient, and more efficient in the long term.
#2 New Action Button
The iPhone Pro models also support a new Action button which replaces the traditional mute button. I like this new functionality as it allows you to trigger certain actions, like muting the phone, turning on the flashlight, or taking a photo with the camera open.
I watched the demo of the action button from a journalist on Twitter.
The new change introduces new functionality that will help users switch between different actions.
#3 Upgraded Camera
The camera has also been upgraded. A 48MP main camera captures fine details, offering incredible image quality at a practical file size ideal for storing and sharing.
What’s more intriguing is that an additional 2x Telephoto option gives users three optical-quality zoom levels — 0.5x, 1x, 2x — for the first time. I love taking videos and photos so the new upgrade is a huge win.
I love that the new camera promises sharper detail, more vivid colors, and improved low-light performance. Furthermore, for the first time, users can take portraits without having to switch to Portrait mode.
Concluding Thoughts
The recent upgrades at Apple are quite intriguing, especially with the new camera system, a new action button, and the support for USB-C. In my books, this is a reason to make a jump and upgrade.
