3 Publications That You Should Definitely Use on Medium

They helped me A LOT!

Medium is really difficult, especially when starting out. However, there is one simple tool that only takes the click of a few buttons which will allow you to have an exponentially easier time when starting out. For me personally, I didn’t realize that this tool existed for my first two weeks on Medium. I struggled a lot without it! However, when I learned of it, my writing automatically spiked across the board from what I’d been seeing before.

And this simple tool which I’m talking about is publications! Yes! I know! How did I not know of their existence for my first two weeks of writing on the platform? I can’t tell you. I wrote about 20 articles within those two weeks and had no idea publications existed!

However, that point aside, publications are amazing for beginners! They really help in terms of increasing your audience and reaching more viewers! They are what can change your life on the platform and allow you to reach so many more readers and writers than you typically would with just self-publishing. Some publications work amazingly, and some publications work decently. In this article, I plan on telling you three publications that worked terrifically for me. Illumination By Dr Mehmet Yildiz

Illumination by Dr. Mehmet Yildiz is one of my first and to this day favorite publications on this platform. First of all, Illumination's team of editors goes above and beyond to make sure you don't have to wait too long to get your article published. Typically, mine will get published within 12 hours.

Most of my articles on Medium are published in Illumination not only because of the great editorial team but also because of Illumination’s audience. Illumination’s audience is one of the most interactive and engaging audiences that I’ve seen to date. I always get tons of engagement in the publication and there are a whole lot of followers of the publication!

The Shortform By Tom Fenske

The Shortform is another amazing publication. Run by Tom Fenske, it is a concept publication where only Shortform content of 150 words or less is accepted. The Shortform was another one of my first publications. I joined when it had less than 100 followers; now it has 4,000!

I love the publication not only because of the interactiveness of its followers but also because of its simplicity. Writing short-form content is definitely easier than long-form in my opinion and through this publication, you can really increase your consistency. For example two of my favorite writers here on the platform, Kristina God, and Burk have grown so much through the Shortform!
