3 Powerful Ways to Create Beauty in Your Life and Your Home
Beauty happens through actions, feelings and the way we live.

Whenever you are creating beauty around you, you are restoring your own soul. — Alice Walker.
As I carefully chose the shade of my red lipstick this morning, I was reminded of how good beauty feels. I went with a dark shade radiating with sparkles of gold and layered on top a brighter tone of coral. For the last few months, I had left my bright lip color in the cabinet. I opted for muted tones of gloss or chapstick. Until today, I did not know what I had been missing. Not only did this beauty routine help me look brighter, but it brought a spark to my heart as well. I found that when I chose to create beauty, I let more light into my spirit. On my 100-day journey exploring abundance, I find that the more we allow to enter our life, the more will come to us in so many forms.
Beauty in Your Home:
I was so inspired yesterday by one of the members of my Decluttering Club. She said that one of the ways she finds joy is to create beauty in her home. She then shared a lovely photo in our group of her mantle with three beautiful poinsettia plants on top of it. They were flanked by some bright lamps and a framed mirror. This scene created a feeling of happiness for her.
I believe that when we bring living plants into our home, we are breathing more life into it. The energy of these living organisms not only radiates beauty but also breathes fresh life into our environment. Right now, in the middle of our dining table, I am looking at my lucky bamboo plant. It was a gift from my husband many months ago. Nurturing it has given me a sense of satisfaction and joy.
Lesson: Bring plants into your home to refresh your environment and your spirit. They will bring you daily joy and beauty to your home. They bring abundance in a life force for you to enjoy.
Beauty on the Outside:
Creating beauty in our outer appearance with how we dress and present ourselves is paramount. I had forgotten this for a little while. For the last two or three weeks, I felt a bit overwhelmed. This was of my own doing. I wanted to get all of the holiday preparations done quickly. Because of this, I lost a little bit of my spark in how I dressed and what colors I chose. As of two days ago, I started to choose bright colors and carefully put on my makeup each morning with joy. Since I haven’t cut my hair for many months, I can try new styles. By paying more attention to my outer beauty lately, I have felt more energy to spread joy.
Lesson: Choose your clothes, beauty products and care for your hair. Caring about your outer beauty brings you an abundance of joy and more energy to share with others.
Beauty in Your Heart:
Creating beauty in your heart can take many forms. It starts with caring how you feel. For me, that meant changing my schedule. For the past two or three months, I have felt like I was in a rush. I had tried to slow down, but something was not working. I felt like I was always behind for some reason. I believe that it was because I was not allowing myself to start my day with something to nurture my heart.
I had begun to create a habit of a candlelight meditation and then some light exercise after I woke up. However, because I woke up later than I wanted to, those habits were hurried. I only had five to ten minutes to spend on each before it was time to help my son get ready for his home school day. It was time to make a choice. My heart and spirit are precious to me, so I decided to set my alarm for 5:45 am and not ignore it. Now I have plenty of time for a leisurely meditation and my exercise. While I exercise, I listen to an uplifting podcast. What a beautiful way to start the day! My foundation is now to create beauty for my heart: first thing in the morning.
Lesson: Take a little time each day to create beauty for your heart. This may mean meditation, exercise, a walk outside, an uplifting podcast or video, or anything else that brings you peace and tranquility. If you are not a morning person, set aside time in the afternoon or evening for this ritual. Creating time for yourself allows more abundance to flow for you because you are nourishing yourself.
My prayer and my intention for you today is that you create more beauty in your home, in your outer appearance, and in your heart. You are worthy of beauty. Each and every one of us is absolutely beautiful. You came here to share the joy with everyone around you. When you choose to let more beauty into your life, you can radiate that out to others, and the abundance never ends.
Day #41: How can you incorporate more living beauty into your home, what you wear, how you present yourself and in your heart?
