3 Qualities That Can Help You Tap into Your Childlike Spirit
#3. An unshakable belief in the unseen

1. An Unquenchable Thirst for Knowledge
Our busy lives as adults often make us forget the joy and wonder of childhood. As we get older, we get stuck in our ways and become less open to new ideas. We lose our sense of curiosity and wonder. We get tired, doubtful, and less willing to try new things.
When I see my daughter enjoying life, it makes me miss the carefree child I used to be. As I think about my future and what I want to be, I hope to be just like her.
My daughter is always so happy and full of joy. She sees the world as a place where anything can happen.
It’s simply amazing to watch her play.
Watching her play and explore with no worries brings back memories of my childhood when everything was exciting.
As I became an adult, I lost touch with that sense of fun and excitement. I became cynical and stopped believing in the magic of life. I’m always tired and rarely have the energy to enjoy myself. How did I end up like this?
I miss the person I was before the world took its toll on me. I want to reconnect with that part of myself.
I want to be curious again.
Children are naturally curious and ask lots of questions. They have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge.
Curiosity is something we all have inside us, and it can help us unlock our inner child. It’s never too late to find our inner child again and rediscover that sense of wonder.
2. An Electric Enthusiasm for Each Day
Children are playful and creative, finding happiness in simple things. However, as we grow up, we become way too serious and not easily impressed. We lose our enthusiasm for life.
Enthusiasm is like a spark that can bring back the joy of our inner child. It’s the ability to face each day with excitement and appreciate life’s little pleasures.
I see this in my daughter every single day.
My daughter is naturally cheerful and finds joy in even the smallest moments. She wakes up every morning with a big smile, excited for the day ahead. And she appreciates every little things.
I want to learn from her. I want to feel more excited about my own life.
I’m discovering activities that bring me joy, like gardening and spending time in nature. I allow myself to fully enjoy these moments, embracing their vibrant energy.
Also, I choose to focus on the positive aspects of life and find ways to add more fun and excitement to my daily routine. By doing this, I rediscover the magic in everyday experiences.
Enthusiasm is like a spark that can bring back the joy of our inner child.
3. An Unshakable Belief in The Unseen
As adults, we often worry too much. We try to control everything, which only creates resistance and leads to suffering.
We lack faith.
Faith is a powerful quality that helps us reconnect with the trust and wonder of our inner child. It’s about believing in something greater, even if we can’t see it.
My daughter has faith that her needs will be met. She asks for what she wants once and trusts that it is coming.
To cultivate faith, I am letting go of the need to control situations and trust that things will work out. We can have trust in the journey of life, knowing that there’s a purpose guiding us.
By focusing on the bigger picture and appreciating what we have, we can have faith that there’s a greater plan, even when things seem uncertain.
As we embrace the uncertainties of life, even the unknown and understand that challenges are part of growth, our faith gets bigger and bigger.
From now on, I’ll appreciate what I already have and trust that my needs will be taken care of. I’ll ask once and have faith that I’ll get what I ask for if only I can believe. I’ll explore the world around me with curiosity, ask questions, and keep an open mind. I’ll approach each day ready to discover the beauty of life.
Getting back to our childlike spirit won’t be easy, especially when our hearts have hardened, but with effort and the right mindset, anything’s possible.
I’m excited to join my daughter on her adventures, learn new things and discover new places. Perhaps I can rediscover my inner child and find joy in life again.
Why not give it a try?
Who knows where it might lead? It might even help us catch a glimpse of something heavenly.
At about the same time, the disciples came to Jesus asking, “Who gets the highest rank in God’s kingdom?” For an answer Jesus called over a child, whom he stood in the middle of the room, and said, “I’m telling you, once and for all, that unless you return to square one and start over like children, you’re not even going to get a look at the kingdom, let alone get in. Whoever becomes simple and elemental again, like this child, will rank high in God’s kingdom — Matthew 18:1-5 MSG.
