3 Common Mistakes People Make When Making a Daily Routine
What stops us from succeeding with our daily routines?
“I just wasted another day lying around. I can’t follow my daily routine at all. What should I do!”
If you are aware of the importance of a daily routine like me, then you are probably making one daily routine after another, but you are not able to follow it at all.
I will tell you what are the mistakes you are making that are holding you back from not following your own daily routine even after hundreds of attempts. So let’s find out the solution for this life problem.
Mistake 1: Checking your phone first in the morning
Research says 80% of people check their phones before they leave their bed in the morning and brush their teeth.
This small mistake often spoils our whole day. The thing is before we go to bed at night, we make up our minds that I will get up so early tomorrow morning and start doing this.
But if you wake up in the morning and pick up the phone first and then if you find something interesting, then you lose the track of time.
Then when it becomes too late, you think, “It’s already too late, there’s no point starting the work today.” Then the whole routine gets spoiled.
Mistake 2: Fixing a specific time for each task
Most daily routines are planned in this way, 6 am — wake up, 6–7 am — exercise, 7–7: 30 am — meditation, 7: 30–9: 30 am — study, and so on.
Which is a big mistake. This is because we can never say for sure today, what is going to happen with us tomorrow.
For example, you may have decided that you will study from 7:30–9: 30, but it turns out that for some reason or another you become late.
And when you go to sit down to study, you see that the clock is going to ring at 9 o’clock. You will immediately start thinking, “It’s too late today, what will I do now?”
But if you want, you can easily set from 9 am and study till 11 am. But just because you fixed a certain time, your mind will then start to make a strange kind of obstacle.
Mistake 3: Dealing with unimportant tasks first
Completing the important tasks you could not go to tuition the day before. So you have decided to collect the notes today.
But your exam is also going to start next week, so you have decided to finish reading a chapter today. Now, after getting up in the morning first you open WhatsApp to find out from whom you can collect the notes of the previous day.
While collecting notes you come to know that one of your friends broke up yesterday. And you started gossiping without first completing the chapter that you have decided to finish today.
So what is the right way to make a daily routine and follow it? For that, first of all, you have to imagine what are the works that if you complete in a day, that day will seem like a perfectly productive day to you.
How to fix these mistakes in your daily routine
You need to make a list of all those tasks. And to do this, I will tell you to use the app that I personally use. The name of the app is tick-tick. Not Tiktok! It’s Tick tick.
It is a free app and completely ad-free. The biggest thing is that you can access this app from both your phone and computer simultaneously, and it is a completely cloud-based app, so your progress is automatically synced to all devices.
Within this tick-tick app, you can create multiple lists. So, first of all, you will make a list with the name of the daily task.
Now in this list, you will write down the things that need to be done one by one to be able to call it your perfect productive day.
When adding each task, click on the calendar icon (which is premium), go to the more option, and select the daily option in repeat.
Don’t put a time due on it, the reason I have already discussed earlier in mistake 3. Then you can set a priority according to how important the job is.
And then if you want you can add a hashtag to the task, according to the category of the task.
In this way, after the list is complete, you will come to the home screen of your mobile and add the tick-tick widget to the home screen of your mobile, and from here you will choose the today option.
So that every time you open the mobile, your daily routine will come to your notice.
