3 Methods To Reach Inner Sovereignty Which Probably Shouldn’t Be Revealed in Public

Our materialist zeitgeist may not be too happy about such truth bombs

One of my readers asked me how someone today can possibly stay on-course with the subtler dimensions of life — spirituality and inner goal setting — while surrounded by distractions, temptations, and negative energy.

It’s by recognizing something that our culture teaches us to ignore: humans have complexity far beyond what’s theorized by materialistic European science.

It insists that only what can be quantified is ultimately real. Western science has focused totally on conquering the outer world — leaving the inner one full of weeds!

Consciousness has remained a mystery, and will stay that way, until you’ve probed it subjectively. You must learn about it, about all the ways it’s not the same as thoughts or mind.

But now that our modernity is invasively infringing on the innate human potential to realize this consciousness, it may be time to put our foot down.

This is what inner dignity looks like, and how you can achieve it ASAP.

The mind is a radio, and you’re misusing it (horribly)

When you scroll through social media mindlessly, you tune your inner station and pick up signals. Each time you open the floodgates of your mental landscape to this unknown and wild stimulation, your power disperses.

What would normally be channeled into a small handful of pursuits is now spread into the realm of distraction.

Scientists estimate that the human breath rate per minute has almost tripled in the last 100 years – from 4.9 to over 12. That means our physiology is different, and scarily, its potential along with it!

So using ancient techniques for the modern system – such as mindfulness meditation – may not be enough (alone) to enact lasting change.

At some level you must de-modernize your nervous system, so it behaves like ancient humans that lived for wisdom, and not stimulation.

They built magnificent pyramids, composes timeless philosophy, and envisioned culture that would last through the ages. Simply by respecting their minds. Not treating them like trash compactors like we do today.

Freedom begins with deciding which goals in life you want your thoughts to help build. And then making sure your mind’s power isn’t let through other potential escape chutes for its energy.

Intensify and isolate your life.

Emphatically reject the need to read, watch, listen and engage with what’s outside your desired reality-field.

Energy matters, and people who see it more so

India’s famous medieval sage, Guru Nanak, said he taught the eternal truth of the ancients but adapted for a degenerate era. A central teaching he gave is about the importance of spiritual community, to awaken our potential.

It’s the same message echoed by Yogananda, author of the famous Autobiography of a Yogi (except most of his references to living in spiritual community have been mysteriously removed from newer editions of his book!).

I get it, it’s hard even to find anyone who’s interested in optimizing this physical reality, let alone transcending it.

Harder still to encounter a whole community that acknowledges the importance (or even possibility) of that.

But they’re out there, in the most unlikely of places. Dharma is absolutely not the same as religion – because it adherents acknowledge there are infinite ways to reach the truth, and none of these can ever claim exclusivity.

This naturally lends itself to diversity and niche communities.

  • Are you interested in mindfulness? Try a course and then volunteer at your local Vipassana centre.
  • Attracted to philosophy? Try attending Vedanta events at a Hindu temple.

These communities exist for the sole purpose of transcending temporal identity. That’s rare and precious!

But to get transcended, you may have to acknowledge you’re a particular kind of person — in need of sensitive souls that remind you how much more there is to humanity than the mundane.

Otherwise, you may not get the influence necessary to notice all the coarseness from your own side holding you back.

Escape the mind’s subject-object trap, right now

Most people live their entire lives without reflecting on how reality is entirely mind-constructed.

That lover you’re obsessed with, the boss you hate, or the desire you want to fulfill are all objects created in the mind.

They are facets of reality, connected to everything else, which your mind has condensed into one thing to label and grasp onto. If you noticed what was around them, you wouldn’t romanticize, demonize, or obsess even half as much as you do now!

That’s not all.

The way our minds configure themselves, inflating or inflaming in their perception, is itself a response to these objects.

The subject depends upon the object, which it itself molded by the subject.

Noticing this is how you break the obsessions and grasping desires that hold you back from consciously directing your life.

Every “obstacle” or negative force you encounter is empty of much of the identity you’ve invested into it.

It’s a bit like pulling the plug: when your mind doesn’t trust its own delusions, there’s no energetic cause to get caught in its machinations.

You see the trap, and find happiness outside it. There’s a much more stable bliss to access, arising from awareness itself, sheer being. Pure alive-ness!

This can free you of much of the need for a deluded subject (mind) or object (sensory stimulation) to get imprisoned by in the search for “happiness” in the first place.

You deserve so much more than what you’re experiencing right now

Each human on Earth has a rightful heritage to reclaim — the wisdom discovered by past humans.

Because that’s what makes our species what it is: the ability to pass things on, generation to generation.

Just because we forgot this, in the mad rush to industrialize every corner of the Earth, does not mean it has become irrelevant.

So ignore the noise of a confused world – listen to the directives from within. Find others who resonate, as if your entire potential depends on it.

And free yourself from within, so it can reflect without, as direct proof!
