Golf Tips

Send Story Query To: Vic Williams is the editor — email [email protected]
Looking For: Nonfiction
Payment: $300.00–1,000.00
Accepts Simultaneous Submissions: Yes
Pays Writers on Assignment: Yes
More Info:
Golf Tips has a circulation of 300,000 and offers writers a byline and a 33% kill fee.
Nonfiction: They are looking for book excerpts, how-to articles, new product articles, technical, interview, and photo features.
They are looking for 250–2000 words, and the payment is between $300.00–1,000.00 for assigned articles and $300.00–800.00 for unsolicited articles. You see this with some publications as they want to work with repeat writers, so they pay more for writers that they trust enough to hand out assignments to. If you are looking for repeat work, this is great because you might get actual assignments once you build a relationship with the editorial staff.
Columns: There are a few columns that they are also looking for content for. They are:
Stroke Saver (clear and concise instructions) 350 words
Lesson Library (book excerpts, usually in a series) 1000 words
Travel Tips (travel information as it pertains to golfers) 2500 words
Payment for columns ranges from $300.00–850.00.
