3 Life Experiences That Changed My Life

And also my perspective on things.

Life is about change. From birth to death, we have a natural progression in life.

We go through transitions and transform ourselves, sometimes just to find better versions of who we really are.

These changes can be positive or negative, but they happen either way and are always worth taking the time to reflect on.

Blogging is one of the most personal experiences you can have as an individual, and it can be easy to lose yourself while doing it.

But what if blogging could change your life? What if blogging changed your perspective on something that happened in your life?

These three moments led up to me becoming a blogger.

First time I found myself transitioning from being a student to a working adult.

I had just graduated high school and I was excited to take the next step in my life. But the transition from student to working adult was difficult.

My family had always been able to support me, but now that I was on my own, I wasn’t sure how it would work out. I felt lost and alone without my parents around.

That night, I looked at pictures of me with them one day.

That night, as I lay in bed, sobbing uncontrollably in the dark, I remembered something a friend once told me: “When you’re really down on yourself, there is someone else who is just as low.”

A few weeks later, I met up with this friend for coffee and we caught up on everything that had happened since graduation.

She asked if she could write about something that happened to me recently and so I began sharing some of my own experiences.

Reflecting on these moments helped me realize that blogging helps you change your perspective of your life because it’s always growing as a person.

The first time I went through death of someone close to me

This past year I would say was one of the hardest years of my life. I lost my grandfather and father-in-law in the span of a year.

It was a really tough time for me, and it left me feeling so drained. We buried them side by side in our family cemetery, but you see, my family graveyard is really crowded with people that meant something to us.

The cemetery also means everything to me because it’s where my grandparents are buried as well as some of their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. It’s where they’re all together again.

I know that then, I wasn’t ready to blog about what happened because I had just lost so much… But now, I’m ready to share my story with others.

When I met the love of my life

Five years ago, I met the love of my life. He was so sweet and caring, and it made me fall in love with him instantly. We spent every day together, laughing and talking without any problems.

I knew this was something special, but I wasn’t sure how to feel about it because we didn’t know each other at all.

It was different than any relationship I had been in before; something new and exciting.

One night when we were lying in bed together, he asked me how I felt about our relationship. “I don’t know if you’re just not seeing what’s right in front of your face,” he said, “or if you just want to push yourself away.”

He was so sweet that night but maybe too kind for his own good.

That moment changed everything for me because it taught me that it’s okay to be imperfect; to take risks even if they might not go as planned; and to trust yourself even when others don’t understand why you’re making the choices you are.
