3 Journaling Prompts to Close Out the Day
Review Your Day to Kickstart Your Progress Tomorrow

At the end of the day, I find it helpful to take a few minutes to reflect. It’s a time to check in with myself and clear space for what’s coming up next.
These are my 3 favorite journaling prompts for a daily review.
Where did I find inspiration?
As a creative, everything I see or do has the potential to become a resource.
For me, this is usually visual. I take photos constantly; I currently have over 10k screenshots on my phone. The best ones get pulled into an album I use as a personal moodboard, but so many just get buried in my camera roll.
The daily review gives me an opportunity to go back over anything I collected throughout the day and spend a few moments expanding on it.
What small step did I take toward my larger goals?
Looking at big, hairy goals that will take years to achieve gets overwhelming fast.
But every day is an opportunity to take one small step towards those big feats, and the daily review is a great opportunity to celebrate that.
Take it a step further by setting an intention for the following day, something that will move the needle in your personal and/or professional life.
By focusing on the smaller steps on the path to your goal, you build momentum and positive association with that goal, propelling you forward.
What did I learn, and how can I use that lesson?
Obstacles that are overcome, lessons learned through experience, skill development… a commitment to learning doesn’t have to mean you’re actively involved in a class.
Every challenge we face is an opportunity to learn, to grow and develop. What did you struggle with? Where did you have to adjust course? How can you take that lesson and apply it tomorrow?
Do you review?
If you’re in the habit of journaling, do you do a daily review?
