Last year, I ran into a big car accident. It took me 3 months to recover my injuries in hospital. My mind was completely devastated after my accident. I lost all my hopes and my dreams. When things started to get worse, I appointed an Indian psychologist, who was supposed to teach me The Great Indian Techniques To achieve Inner Peace.

I was quite frustrated after my recovery due to loss of time, money and also I was fired from my job. To get things back on track my Indian psychologist Vivek, made a productive daily timetable for me to practice some Indian Techniques to achieve inner peace and restart my life with a complete new state of mind.

Timetable consisted 3 hours of training my mind, It felt terrible because, next few weeks I was supposed to do some sort of techniques I never heard of. I was supposed to pay $210 to learn those techniques and It was pretty cheap as compared to my hospital bills.

The 3 techniques were —

  1. Dhyana” — Meditation.
  2. Yogasana” — Yoga.
  3. Chaii” — Indian Tea.

Meditation.

I was given 1 hour per day to meditate on my own. Like seriously, I paid that guy $210 to learn stuffs on my own. I used to sit down on floor and close my eyes. The first day when I closed my eyes, I started thinking about my future, my loans, my bank balance. I continued to close my eyes for next complete hour, and the only sense I had been left with was breathing.

Next day, I knew exactly what I was going to do while meditation. I focused on my breathing, rather than problems which were about to destroy my life. I continued to meditate for 1 complete week.

Things got pretty easy then, I got a new mindset. Now I was more focused on starting my life with a new objective. I understood that, thinking about my problems in life will only make it worse. After a week of meditation, I began to figure out ways to fight my problem.

I started searching for new job rather than worrying about my previous one. I had belief in me, to fight my problems and not to give up on my life. New version of my life knew that, my life is not over yet. After a month of struggling, I landed a good software developer job in a big startup.

Yoga.

My accident made my body more ductile and weak. I was not able to move fast and my metabolism was completely destroyed. Doctors told me to not join gym till next year, there was no way for me to bring back my good fitness.

Extraordinary things only happen to us, when we do extraordinary things for us.

With 1 hour of meditation, I was supposed to do 1 hour of yoga. But, not on my own, A professional yoga instructor used to visit me and teach me yoga for 1 complete hour.

I was supposed to follow his instructions. I used to repeat yoga steps after him. He taught me all the basic steps of yoga in 1 week and further some advanced yoga techniques.

Yoga was the easiest way of exercise I had done. A couple of days I felt stupid. I am a Technical person, so how I was supposed to believe that, Vigorous gym exercises can be replaced with yoga?

But, after a week my body became more flexible and strong. I felt no change in my body shape, but I felt a huge change in my inner strength. Next couple of weeks I practiced yoga myself, I was able to bring back my fitness. A professional doctor visited me for weekly checkup, He told me that, I am completely fit to join gym again.

Seriously, I was supposed to join gym next year and now I am completely fit to join gym in a couple of weeks. Yoga made my body more flexible. Hence, I become more prone to some muscle damages.

Tea.

Lets except the fact that we can’t live without coffee. When I paid for the Great Indian Techniques to achieve Inner peace to my psychologist, He gave me around 30 Indian tea bags. I was supposed to stay away from all products which contained caffeine.

So, after doing Meditation and yoga, I used to boil water and soak one tea bag in it. Many people will think that's easy, But adding milk or sugar to tea was not allowed. To get more benefits, I followed the exact instructions. 2 complete weeks I drank plain Tea in a cup. I can never forget that taste, it was miserable.

I don’t have a strong immune system. Hence, after my accident I was supposed to fall sick easily. But, my miserable Tea helped me to improve my immune system. Trust me, I didn’t even get common cold for months.

This immunity booster gave me an advantage, I was able to focus more on my meditation and yoga.

I did Meditation to overcome my fear of giving up in life, I trained my mind while focusing on my breathing. Yoga helped me to, bring back my inner strength making me more confident and productive. I felt stronger than I ever could, both mentally and physically. Tea kept me on track by improving my immune system and helping me to stay away from common health problems.

I never thought a cheap $210 course can make my life sustainable, but here I am developing great software for different companies. I have paid all my loans, and I am planning to go back to my Indian psychologist, to try some new Indian Techniques which can help me in my future life.

We can learn some beautiful ancient art form country like India, they were vanished due to creations made in Modern science era. But, when modern science can’t help us, we must always go back to ancient art of helping mankind.
