This is just a quick reminder.

There are only a few days left to step into 2023 and we’ve got aims and objectives.

Many of us started in 2022 successfully while others are still struggling. Also, those who’re already doing great want to achieve more.

I believe you know that being successful requires some level of principles, discipline, and self-esteem.

There are so many productivity hacks out there but without some basic principles, I don’t think you’ll be able to achieve anything.

Besides, you might only end up wandering around a circle. Therefore, if you crave financial, mental, and spiritual growth, you’ll need these three tenets.

1. Focus

Our lives are full of distractions and the only way to handle distraction is by being distracted in doing the right thing and what is needed. An intelligent person can do both "wants" and "needs" at a time. But a genius will only do what he needs.

Who do you think is going to be effectively productive? The genius, right?

Imagine if you have crucial research to carry out in the library and on reaching the library, you meet some individuals playing musical instruments — of which you’re a fan of music — you love everything about music.

At such a moment, will you stop? No! You won’t stop if you know what takes you there. At that juncture, you know too well that the "research" is more crucial to you. So, you’ll have no choice but to proceed with your initial intention (going into the library).

However, a high level of discipline is all you need to focus on what is more essential to you. To help you stay focused, you need to have the following: a to-do list, a calendar, and an alarm. Also, ensure you stick to the plan.

2. Commitment

Yes, you have your to-do list, calendar, and alarm. Is that enough? I think it's not enough. Sometimes making plans isn't where the whole thing lies. The whole thing and struggles lie in your commitment.

"Oh, I want to do more on Medium next year and I have mapped out my plans," you may express your thoughts this way. But are you ready to bear the pressure of commitment?

You see, it’s not all about making plans and just saying it in confidence but all about commitment. Sometimes you may lose the urge to work but you just have to do it.

Moreover, "success" isn’t a comfortable thing. To attain it, you have to be wholly committed.

Consistency

Consistency is of paramount importance to any career person. If you look forward to growing your career, you must be consistent. While you stay consistent, fixate your mind and energy on the right thing.

Many people fail in their careers today because they fail to acknowledge the power of consistency. So, you can be focused, and committed. But without consistency, you’re going nowhere

Final Takeaway

Without commitment, you'll never kick-start your career and without consistency, you'll never cross the finish line.
