At the very beginning of 2022, I was all set to create a cheat sheet or small course around programming.</p><p id="5099">Why roadmap around programming?</p><ul><li>When I started my programming journey I faced various obstacles and I wanted others to avoid that and leverage their learning.</li><li>The roadmap would’ve created my credibility amongst my readers or subscribers.</li><li>It would’ve given me a sense of happiness as I always love to spread the knowledge I have.</li></ul><p id="75f2">At the end of 2022, I had already made 4 to 5 rough sketches about this roadmap but never worked on finalising it. I used various resources and provided the required compilation of the resources but never finalised them. It was like a 25–30 page book roughly written by me.</p><p id="90a1">The mistakes which totally failed this goal —</p><ul><li>I thought other programming content is better than mine, as there are various <a href="https://javascript.plainenglish.io/3-youtube-channels-every-programmer-should-follow-66952f1f24e4"><i>YouTube</i></a> channels and <a href="https://javascript.plainenglish.io/3-websites-to-learn-programming-for-free-859cdb3e0d59"><i>Websites</i></a> that are already providing vast amounts of high-quality tutorials.</li><li>Fear of failure that what if none of my handbooks is liked by newbie programmers and what if they find it irrelevant?</li><li>Also, I had fear of starting something new and I was not completely aware either if it can fit into my hectic schedule.</li></ul><h2 id="d55b">Focusing More on Providing updates regarding Programming</h2><p id="3733">As we all know there are various chances happening recently in the field of programming and technology, and coping with the latest news or information is very hard these days. So I planned at the beginning of 2022 to provide a source of such updates either via social media or my blogging platform.</p><p id="0ad9">Why?</p><ul><li>It would’ve attracted quite remarkable traffic and it would’ve benefited me as a creator</li><li>I would’ve stayed updated with all the news a win-win situation</li><li>It may have become my mainstream content subject</li></ul><p id=

I admit that achieving this goal was a complete failure on my end but at least I know where I went wrong and where there is room for improvement.</p><p id="3c1a">To summarize, I would just that you need to start it instead of procrastinating and you need to manage your time for creating a good schedule which can align with all your activities and plans. 3 Goals Related to Programming Which I failed to Achieve in 2022 and Why

Recap of 2022 goals which I clearly didn’t complete due to various reasons

At the beginning of 2022, I felt it would be a completely different year for me and I thought 2022 will transform my programming career into something which I always dreamt of.

But honestly, we are at the end of 2022 and things related to my career are pretty same as they were at the beginning of the year. Why? Because I failed to complete my programming goals.

Following is a short summary of the goals which I planned to complete in 2022 and the reasons I was not able to complete them. I am highlighting the mistakes so that I won’t repeat it as well as you will get the idea about where things can go wrong while completing your set of goals —

Learning a New Skill for Better Opportunity

At the start of 2022, I decided to learn a new skill which would’ve helped me give exposure to new opportunities and also opened new doors for me, but I was not able to learn it. The skill which I planned to learn was Full Stack Development.

Why Full Stack Development?

It would’ve helped me to enter the world of freelancing
It may have helped me to do a career shift
I would have one more skill set in my backpack

As a programmer who knows data structure and algorithms, mastering full-stack development would really be a better thing for me to do. I did know the basics of full-stack but never had a chance to deep dive into it. I planned to master it in 2022 but I clearly failed in doing it.

Mistakes I made which resulted in failure in achieving this goal —

Failed to Manage my time due to my workload and personal life
Didn’t have any dedicated schedule or roadmap to follow
Focused deeply on skills needed in my workplace rather than exploring
