The 3 Best Pizza Joints in Chicago
These alone will make your trip to Chicago worth it

If there’s one thing the windy city of Chicago is known for is their pizza! As a pizza lover this one of the first things I wanted to check out when I moved here. Having lived in Chicago for almost 5 years now, I’ve had plenty of time to scout out the best spots. I’m going to share with you the top 3 pizza joints in the Chicagoland area you should try when you travel here.
Giordano’s
Giordano’s is the epitome of Chicago deep dish-pizza. The crust’s crispiness level is utter perfection! It’s very tasty, stuffed with cheese and toppings at least 2 inches deep. They use quality ingredients. This is the best deep-dish pizza I’ve ever tried.
Having originated in Chicago, there are 50 locations in Illinois and only 1–4 locations in 9 other states.
The great thing about Giordano’s is even if you live in a state with no locations, you can still order one of their frozen pizzas and have it shipped to you. They package it so securely that it will taste just as good as if you had it made to order.
Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria
Similar to Giordano’s, Lou Malnati’s offers both deep-dish and thin-crust pizza. Both are also very good quality if you’re not able to get to a Giordano’s. I tend to like their thin crust over their deep-dish a little more.
Only 4 states have locations; Illinois has 56, Indiana has 4, and Wisconsin and Arizona each have 2. But you also have the option of having their frozen pizzas shipped to you if you don’t live near one.
One really cool detail about Lou Malnati’s is that they offer 2 specialty pizzas; their gluten-free and crustless pizzas. My husband loves their crustless pizza when he’s on a ketogenic diet. I’ve tried it myself, and the flavor is so rich, you don’t even realize it’s missing a crust.
D’Agostino’s Pizza and Pub
Even though D’Agostino’s also offers deep-dish, it has to be my absolute favorite for thin crust pizza. My preference is almost always thin crust and theirs is so thin and crispy and their ingredients are so flavorful! I don’t know what they put in them, but I can’t stop myself at 2 slices.
The downside is this is a smaller establishment than the previous two, so they only have 6 locations and they’re all in Illinois. They don’t have the shipping option for their pizzas.
Whether you prefer thick stuffed pizza or thin crust, these 3 pizzerias are all amazing options. Trying any of these will make your trip to Chicago complete!
