Abstract

The article highlights three applications that allow users to start with cryptocurrency without any money. The first application is Brave Browser, which is a browser application that allows users to surf the web and earn BAT (Brave Attention Token) by viewing ads. The second application is Hi Dollar, which is a cryptocurrency founded by former executives from the Crypto.Com team. Users can earn free HI every day by answering a trivial question. The third application is Coinbase, which allows users to earn free crypto by taking quizzes. The article also mentions a bonus application, Crypto.Com, which allows users to earn free crypto through its diamond/gem earnings program.

3 Apps that Let You Get Started With Cryptocurrency with No Money

Brave Browser

Brave is a browser application that allows users to surf the world wide web just like Edge and Chrome browsers allow you to do — the only difference is that it takes user security, privacy, and revenue distribution from ads way more seriously than those other browsers. In Brave, users will also find an integrated crypto wallet which they can use to earn BAT (Brave Attention Token) which is an Ethereum token but distributed into an Uphold wallet based on the number of ads a user views in a single month. Simply put, the more you browse, the more you earn.

It’s pretty easy to get started with Brave, simply navigate to the website: https://brave.com/download/

Download the browser and then run the download to install.

Once you open the application the first thing you will want to do is click on the triangle on the right hand side of the URL bar.

You will be prompted to create an Uphold wallet which is relatively straightforward. After, you simply connect your uphold wallet to your Brave Browser and you are ready to go in terms of earning “free” cryptocurrency for browsing the web. I put free in quotation marks because what you are being paid for is your attention to ads that you see while surfing the web. In standard web browsers ad revenue is paid to Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc. However, in Brave when you see certain ads a portion of that revenue is distributed back to you. Easy!

Hi Dollar

Hi Dollar is a cryptocurrency that was founded by former executives from the Crypto.Com team. HI is an asset that is focused on streamlining payments and doing it in a social way. Users can send, receive, stake, and play games using their HI all through the comfort of a mobile app.

You can get started for free with HI by utilizing a reference link (here’s mine: https://hi.com/Nicso).

Once you are signed up you can earn free HI everyday simply by answering a very trivial question (seriously, somedays the questions are things like: “What’s your favorite pizza topping?”).

Your rewards earning panel in HI.

The incentive with HI is to remain in platform, so I think much of the cryptocurrency you earn is being re-circulated from transaction fees.

Coinbase

While not a straightforward cryptocurrency like the above two platforms, Coinbase does allow users to get started without cryptocurrency without paying out any money. Users make an account and can begin earning Crypto by taking quizzes. The amount of crypto you will earn is small, and the number of times you can do it is limited, but there seems to be a new quiz every month and once you acquire the free crypto you can easily sell it off. There’s really no downside to this process.

To get started interested parties need to download the Coinbase app, create an account, and then navigate to the learning section of Coinbase’s app. From there they can begin learning about crypto while earning it for free.

Bonus: Crypto.Com

Crypto.com technically allows users to earn Crypto for free. This is through its diamond/gem earnings which can be reclaimed for more crypto (typically CRO). I say technically because in some cases, to earn gems, a user must buy or sell a certain amount of a cryptocurrency. Which makes it… not free. However, there are activities such as receiving crypto, sending crypto, or using the VISA rewards card through CDC which will also earn you gems to get free crypto.

To get started users need to download the Crypto.Com app, create an account, navigate to the rewards section and observe the tasks for any given day.

Conclusion

While many people believe they have to dump loads of money into cryptocurrency to get started, that is actually not a requirement. Aspiring investors have a number of options to accrue cryptocurrency through Brave, HI, Coinbase, and CDC platforms. If users are smart they can also flip this free cryptocurrency to other assets and earn more. It’s relatively easy to get started and if you have the attention span to stick with it it’s also relatively easy to grow your holdings over time.
