Before I share my various lists of February 2022 content ideas, I want to remind you to think about your target audience and your brand. What does your target audience WANT to learn about? Remember if you create content that they aren’t following you for, then they won’t read it and essentially it was a bit of a waste of time.

I will have an article coming out soon on how to define your target audience, why it’s important, and who they are. So be looking for that article very soon if you need help with this! But to get a head start, think about who you want to create content for that you’d love to have as a paying customer.

The lists below have a variety of different ideas, they range between fun and serious topics so use these lists as inspirations. I suggest having a piece of paper with you so when inspiration hits you can write down your topic ideas before you forget them. :)

1. Think about the holidays this month and how you can incorporate them into your content. February’s holidays are:

  • Black History Month (all month long)
  • National Freedom Day (Feb. 1)
  • Chinese New Year (Feb. 1)
  • Groundhog Day (Feb. 2)
  • World Cancer Day (Feb. 4)
  • Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 6)
  • International Day of Women and Girls in Science (Feb. 11)
  • Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14)
  • National Love Your Pet Day (Feb. 20)
  • President’s Day (Feb. 21)
  • National Banana Bread Day (Feb. 23)

2. Current trends that you might be interested in creating content for:

  • Super Bowl LVI
  • Sustainability
  • Love amidst a COVID surge
  • Maximizing health resolutions beyond January
  • President’s Day deals/giveaways
  • Red, pink, and white visuals for Valentine’s Day
  • Dessert recipes/ideas
  • Comeback/rescheduled tours and festivals
  • The rise of crypto and NFTs
  • Hybrid workforce

3. Other Content Ideas

  • Behind the scenes of your life. Whether it’s your personal or professional life, people love to see the behind-the-scenes! I do this on my Instagram for my design agency by sharing time-lapses of design projects, designs in a day services, and when I’m working ON my business as well. People love it!
  • Posting a discount or giveaway. Typically there are sales for President’s day, is this something you want to participate in for your business? If so, get planning and post it soon! :)
  • Ask your audience! I do this so often, that way I’m creating content that my viewers want to learn about. Remember when you’re creating content you’re creating for them, not you. Of course, it has to be topics you’re interested in and topics that are “on brand” but it’s important to know what they want to learn. If they don’t want to learn it, they won’t take the time to view or read it.

Say thanks!
