5 Reasons Why You Should Read “Someone Else’s Year”

To the Poet 07 of “Someone Else’s Year”
I adore how you capture the feeling of disappointment, loss, and emptiness so well. I can feel my heartbreak with yours at each line. Yet, I also love how you can use some form of art to express your sadness through poetry. For example, at the end of each verse or stanza, some fantastic images make me feel hope for myself and for others who may someday experience these same emotions too. It’s interesting reading your poem because, on the one hand, it feels like an internal dialogue about what you’re feeling, but on the other hand, it feels very public because your memories are affecting us as readers too! Overall I really enjoyed reading your poem — thanks for sharing!
